How to Get / Where to Find the Blacksmith Giant Hammer

Notes:

  • Give to Frampt to receive 100 souls.
  • A high damage weapon with a decent move set. While it requires killing a useful NPC, it might be worth it for the weapon's high damage output. If you want to try it out, consider killing the Giant Blacksmith before moving to NG+.

I'll pass...i was already forced to kill a giant doggo, that for all I know just wanted to play fetch with a rather large sword. You won't make me hate myself over a hammer.

      Evil sonsabiches...

Finally decided to end the NG and kill the giant for the weapon, "it can't be that bad" I think, although something broke in me realizing I gonna kill the friendly big guy, even gave him Crystal ember before the end, he was so cute I almost decided not to do it but then I say to myself "YO DAWG ITS JUST AN NPC DO IT YOU PUSSY" then I hit him couple of times, death animation starts...

        "Nighty-nighty"

Whaaaaaaat game wth why does it be so sad I literally almost teared up, no weapon guide included THIS, this is literally the time I felt myself miserable over a video game like not edgy-badass-evil nooo, like "I just killed a friendly child-like friend of mine and now I have to live with it" miserable, you can even cheat your backup save to return him to life but you will never unhear these words...

Ridiculous cartoon bopper. Enormous damage and huge in-game model but weighs only 3 units and has the fast moveset/low stamina consumption of a regular hammer. Very high DPS. No scaling and very low requirements mean that your build will be overpowered due to inflated stats. This weapon is good cause for head-scratching as it seems the developers didn't effectively communicate about its properties, or outright didn't care. Use it to win easily at the expense of the beauty and realism that made this game famous.

          Great for speedrunning.

Guess i'll never be able to use this weapon outside of Randomizer Runs, i wouldn't be able to live with myself for murdering that big lovable cinnamon roll, you would really have to be just the most horrible person to do such a thing without feeling like absolute dogshit.

One of the best choices to complete your sl 1 run. Ironically really good for berg invaders... In order to kill and slaughter, the character was seduced and corrupted by abyss and humanity, and the player lost respect and love for npcs which he had during his first play through of the game.
Well, if you really want to gain true power, give up your sensitive human nature and fragile emotions! Kill the smith with no hesitation, and then you can truly become a consumed darkwraith knight of Katthe, bad but cool~

First time playing with item randomiser, and this is my starting weapon. I can't believe how good this thing is, killed the fire drake easy. Crazy low stat requirement, for what it is. Arguably best weapon in game.

So.... err... I had the stupid idea of running to the blacksmith from the first bonfire, aggroed all the bat demons, and as I was fighting them off in the blacksmith room one of them clipped the giant and he died.... at least I have this weapon to carry on his legacy... fml

fck the twinks that use this weapon against undead burg new players, new players have no resistances to lightning, so basically, even if a new player blocks you, youl still take damage... fck twink players.

This weapon's strength requirement should actually be 99 because you also have to carry the weight of what you did to that poor, innocent man

                        • NPCs I'm morally bound to never kill:
                          1. Giant Blacksmith of Anor Londo (But you, friend. You talk, I no talk, but happy.)
                          2. Laurentius of the Great Swamp (Which is fine, as I never got along with anybody anyway.)
                          3. Hawkeye Gough (Good, good. What is bravery, without a dash of recklessness!)
                          4. Solaire of Astora (Obvious reasons)

I would recommend only killing the Giant blacksmith before you fight Gwyn and use the hammer in ng+ rather then killing him early on

I can’t figure out why anyone would go for this weapon, for strength scaling there are better options, for elemental/low level builds the Reinforced club does the trick in a heart beat.

... this thing should REALLY be a greathammer, and maybe have a bit of faith scaling... I mean its friggin' big for it to be lumped with the rest of the otherwise normal-sized hammers.
