Darkmoon Blade is a Miracle in Dark Souls. To cast a miracle, you must use a Talismans or Special Weapons that can cast Miracles.
Miracle granted to those bound by covenant to Gwyndolin, Lord Gwyn's lastborn. Boost right weapon with rays of Darkmoon. The power of the rays of the Darkmoon are manifested in vengeance, and the deeper the animus, the more devastating the attack.
Usage
- Weapon Buff
- Duration: 60 seconds
- Temporary enhances right-hand weapon with magic damage. A miracle buff for standard weapons.
Acquired From
- Offer 10 souvenirs of reprisal to Gwyndolin to Rank up in the Darkmoon Covenant. As for covenant item, you can have it only once per character
Notes
- Scales with the Magic Adjust of your talisman.
- Only member of the Blade of the Darkmoon covenant can use it. If you kill Gwynevere or Gwyndolin, it automatically removes you from the covenant and you will not be able to use it anymore during the current playthrough.
- Damage multiplier based on Blade of the Darkmoon's covenant level: +0 = 1.8* Talisman's MagAdjust, increasing by 0.1 at each rank to a maximum of 2.1* Talisman's MagAdjust.
- The amount of damage increase by the buff is not affected by the base damage of the equipped weapon.
- The buff also increases Dragon King's Greataxe's two-handed strong attack's shockwave damage, since the shockwave inflicts magic damage.
- Using Crown of Dusk, Crown of the Dark Sun, or Ring of the Sun's Firstborn does not increase the damage.
- This item cannot be used if any other Weapon Buffs are active, or vice versa.

just a warning to people that want to get into the PvP at meta SL at oolacile township (most popular spot) no one is gonna let you buff. fast weapons with this **** are incredibly annoying and the buff does insane damage on anything really so you are going to get backstabbed while buffing. and even if you get the buff off there is pretty good chance opponents will just turtle and wait out the buff.

I'm currently +3 in the covenant. My question is, will it stay this way after starting a ng+. I don't plan on leaving or betraying, so this should still keep me at +3 right? I'm sick of farming the souvenirs.

At 50 faith, this does 6 magic damage less than a 50 int Moonlight Greatsword. You can put stuff on a dagger. 474 magic + the physical damage VS 480 magic damage

If we take the most powerful form of this, then multiply it by the highest magic adjustment, we get +504 added damage to any weapon. this is the best buff in the game.

Rakuyo, it might be more appropriate to speculate about Gwyndolin's links to other loosely associated works on the page for Gwyndolin. I'm not a fan of the link itself at all personally, but linking it to a miracle associated with a covenant associated with a character that a fan wrote a theory about how it connected to a loosely associated work, seems like a bit of a stretch as far as related material is concerned. Especially since most of the Notes section contains information specifically about the game mechanics of the miracle. Unless, of course, your article talks about the significance of the specific miracle and how it associates to Berserk and Bloodborne. In which case, just changing the description to reflect that would be fine.
