=== =An intelligence build featuring the Moonlight Greatsword+5, generally most mages utilize the Bellowing Dragoncrest ring, this build doesn't; instead, uses the Red Tearstone ring. The Moonlight Greatsword deals "pure" magic damage (475 AR), when below 20% HP, the Red tearstone ring activates and grants an additional +50% Atk. boost, dealing an intense 712 AR of pure magic damage.====
  • Pure: pure damage means all the damage is allocated into one damage factor (physical, magic, fire, lightning), pure damage only needs one defense value to pass, proving that pure damage is stronger than something like a lightning claymore+5, which has "split-damage".
  • Split-damage: 2 separate damage factors in one weapons. Weaker than pure damage, i.e lightning Flamberge+5, 275 Phys. 280 Ltng. damage.
  • Magic adjust: the damage adjust of a magic-casting tool, i.e Ascended flame+5, 230 magic adjust; the higher the magic adjust, the higher the damage of Spells, Miracles, or Pyromancies.
Main elements in this build:
  1. Pure damage from the Moonlight Greatsword.
  2. Damage enhanced by the Red Tearstone ring when under 20% HP.
  3. Grass crest shield used for increased Stamina regeneration.
  4. 45 Dexterity as a main stat, increased spell casting-speed.
  5. Crown of dusk is manipulated, increases 20-26% magic damage. A problem with the crown itself, is the defense, the defense is quite-low, but that's not the thing - it decreases magic defense by 30% making other mages a weakness. The magic damage increase also affects Pyromancies.
  6. Moonlight Greatsword's magic defense increase by 40 Pt. which decreases the Crown's magic defense penalty.

When invading in the forest, you'll often find yourself in a "Ganking" situation, which means there's 2 or 3 people fighting-off 1 person, you can't get another invader as the max-players in one world is 4 players, hence you can't do anything other than NPC help or man-up and face them. But parrying generally aids you greatly; here's a tutorial for the "Setup parry."
  • Block first attack
  • Parry via tapping LT/L2
  • Assume you've successfully parried them, and tap R1/RB.
Requirements:
  • A shield
  • Somewhat-good connection (It's not necessary to get new internet if yours is bad, but just hope for the best that the host has good connection)
Moonlight Greatsword Moveset:

One-handed R1/RB
One-handed R2/RT
Two-handed R1/RB
Two-handed R2/RT
  • Horizontal "regular" attack, easily parried.
  • Don't spam RB/R1 to avoid being parried, use it once; roll back.
  • Vertical "special" attack, cannot be parried.
  • Blasts a green-projectile via slamming the ground.
  • Vertical "regular" attack, medium-easily parried.
  • Avoid spamming; same tactic should be utilized similarly to the one-handed counterpart.
  • Horizontal "special" attack, cannot be parried.
  • Similar to the one-handed version, just a larger attack radius and higher damage.

  • 16 Strength is enough for the Moonlight Greatsword, and is equivalent to 24.

  • With these stats, the AR of the Moonlight Greatsword is very high; 475. 712 when Red Tearstone ring activated.

  • 44 Intelligence is required for Crystal Soul spear.

  • 15 Vitality is max for this build, this is a disadvantage.

  • Upon encounter of a player casting Great magic barrier, cast CMW on either of these weapons:

  • Great scythe+15 > Scales E with Strength and A for Dexterity; moveset similar to the Lifehunt Scythe.

  • Balder side sword+15 > Scales E with Strength and A for Dexterity; moveset similar to the long sword.

  • Iaito+15 > 300 Bleeding, scales E with Strength and A for Dexterity; moveset similar to the Uchigatana.

  • Falchion+15 >Scales E with Strength, and A for Dexterity; moveset similar to the Scimitar.

  • Flamberge+15 > 300 Bleeding, scales D with Strength, B for Dexterity; moveset similar to the MLGS.

- I'm aware that CMW deals magic damage, but will aid these weapons by adding over 300 magic damage.

- These are all mainly Dexterity-scaling weapons.

  • Raises magic defense by 40; making the Crown of Dusk's magic defense penalty weaker.
  • Pure magic damage, as stated above.
  • One of the few weapons that's similar to a strength weapon for a mage character.

  • Hastens stamina regeneration speed.
"Old medium metal shield of unknown origin. The grass crest is lightly imbued with magic, which slightly speeds stamina recovery."

* Speed up your stamina's regeneration speed; this build uses a fast-paced tactic.

  • Stamina regeneration speed increase also works when 2H-ing your weapon.
  • Upgrading to +15 is pointless, as the stability doesn't increase.

Locate Quelana of Izalith. She will ascend the normal Pyromancy Flame up to +15 using souls. After it is ascended to +15, she will further enhance it into the upgraded version. The upgraded version has different statistics as well as a different description. The upgraded version can be ascended to +5.
  • Intelligence doesn't increase the magic adjust of the flame, but instead increases the punching damage, which is pointless.
  • Requires 340,500 souls to upgrade fully.
