Lifehunt Scythe is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.

Scythe born from the soul of Priscilla, the stark white crossbreed trapped inside the painted world of Ariamis.
Even the Gods feared Priscilla's lifehunt ability, and in the hands of a mortal, its power will turn upon its wielder."

How to Get / Where to Find the Lifehunt Scythe

Notes

  • Give to Frampt to receive 14 souls.
  • Bleed build up is 50 on the enemy and 40 on the player for each strike. Once triggered, bleed effect tears down 50% of enemy's (or player's) total health instantly.
  • One of only two weapons in the game that causes 50% of maximum bleed damage, rather than the normal 30% from other Bleed effects, the other being Priscilla's dagger.
  • Also resembles the scythe wielded by Rurufon in Shadow Tower Abyss, From Software's early title.

Lore

  • Priscilla - The Anthesis of Life - possessed a power that could kill even the very gods.

"could kill the very gods" ok but where's the occult damage aux? sometimes the descriptions in this game can be either misleading or missing context

      • Anonymous

The perfect weapon ong: big as* cool-lookin scythe, bleeds enemies and you (to remind how f*kin powerful this sh* is), you get it from one of the easiest boss in the game and it's only mid game, kinda. My favourite weapon in every souls-like game fr. The things I would do to get this in ds2 and 3...

        • Anonymous

Why would anyone want to use a weapon that inflicts damage upon yourself?

Having to use blood moss every now and then (which prevent your character from moving for 2-3s) to counter the effects does not seem like fun, more like a chore.

On Quality build this weapon deals around 500 dmg just like Great Scythe. But Great Scythe won't kill you from your own attacks. Sure it has stronger bleed than GS but Kalameet, Ceaseless, Quelaag, Four Kings, Gaping Dragon, Nito, Gwyn, Iron Golem, Artorias, Manus, Moonlight Butterfly and Seath are IMMUNE to bleed anyway.

So much for this being some crazy boss killer. Nope. You were fooled by feet simps.

You mfs are already talking about her feet, this isnt even her fextra page and you swines are mentioning her soft toes…….. im sick of it

I wish this did Occult damage. It would make more sense, though I know weapons can only usually have 1 special bonus and a scythe is usually Bleed, but still... It's her namesake after all.

A man invades the shelter of a woman. She politely asks him to leave. He removes her limb, murders her, uses her limb and her peaceful soul as a bleeding weapon to murder other beings.

Not to mention killing lord Gwyn with DSS. During ripost I could hear him say - Orenstein, what have they done to you?

This game is very cold sometimes.

Bro use this in conjunction with the Shadow Set to literally become Cole from Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.

                    • PVP I'd say is Mid-tier? not bad, but really not that good. The move-set for the most part is quite awkward (with a horrible R1 attack) quite parry-able, and let you open for punishment, specially when you don't connect; it has a very good 2H running attack (godlike), and great 2HR2, and also a good simple R2 (and great Dead Angles) .
The range is NOT that good, that's mainly what makes the difference between this and the Great Scythe ( a Top-tier weapon, and in every way a better weapon); you can argue that this one has a higher bleeding effect (500 against 300) but at the very least in this aspect whatever you can do with a Lifehunt you can also do with a Great Scythe; AND the Lifehunt bleeds you too, so... you can use a bloodbite ring (but that of course loses a slot), maybe with bl def armor, blood shield or red grass, is difficult to bleed yourself to death but if the enemy is also bleeding you it's gonna be nasty.
That said, is FUN, and the whole style of fighting with Scythes is really fun, and can really surprise an opponent. And even when it's a worse weapon (and all the differences I mentioned), if you are good with a Great Scythe you must be very dangerous with a Lifehunt too.

currently doing a dex pyro build (my first dex build of ds1) and was using a +10 iaito before i remembered this exists so i got it at +4 and Super Smough went down easier than pinwheel!

Simply put, this weapon is extremely strong. The bleed damage is second to none. Probably one of the best farming weapons in the game, and it's really good against bosses too.

                          • Anonymous

Absolutely OP with the bloodbite ring but I've figured out its **** for the maneater shells right before seath. Idk why but they only do like 163 damage to the clams.

Is it possible to smith this weapon past +5, or does it already count as +15 due to being forged from a +10 Halberd? I've obtained every ember, but I can't seem to reinforce/ascend this weapon at all.

I used through most of my first playthrough and through NG+, only bled out once because I got careless and forgot about the self bleed. It`s really not that big of a deal. Was wearing the Gold Hemmed Black Set and a Bloodbite Ring for that Grim Reaper look and it worked like a charm. I can recommend this weapon 100% for PVE. I`m about to test it on low-level PVP today.

I've had great success with this weapon in my NG+ (PvE). At 34 STR 44 DEX I had totall of 502 AR which is great compared to other weapons that i've used; black knight great sword (+5) at 556 AR (slightly higher AR but much longer recovery time and higher stamina cost), chaos blade (+5) at puny 372 AR (I have no idea how I've beaten the game with it on my first playthrough). You have to get used to its light attack which is an ovehead slash but its heavy attack is just amazing against single targets and groups alike. As for the bleed resistance all you will ever need is a single bloodbite ring; having equiped it I bled like only once during a long nito fight so you won't have to worry about bleed build-up at all. So yes I think waifu is worth killing for this

Two handing this with 2-3 successive R2 side swinging attacks with a running start absolutely annihilated Black Dragon Kalameet. The swing speed and range are great. He drops his front legs right into your mid range swing, so swing well before you think you're in range and you won't be disappointed. Your own bleed should never trigger because you should be backing away after 3 swings max to avoid his retaliatory close range attacks anyway.

It was also really easy to cut off his tail with a running 2H R1 followed by regular 2H R1. I died to him a handful of times for getting greedy despite my nonexistant health (698) and only wearing the Grass Crest Shield on my back for stamina boost, but I cut off that tail 4-5 times (Sadly, only the 1st gave the Obsidian Greatsword), but after learning to back off after 2-3 swings every time, this cut through his high health bar like it was a stick of butter at a pancake supper fundraiser.

I'm still of the opinion it should have the move set Priscilla shows off during her fight. its kinda... lacklustre otherwise

                                      • Anonymous

For comparison, the great scythe has much better range, weights 1 unit less, can be enchanted and at 40 dex has a higher AR. The only reason to use this is for the extra bleed buildup, but you will most likely need to partner it with the blood crest shield or bloodbite ring.

                                        • Anonymous

Simply, my favourite weapon in the game. Dingy set, blood shield, and bloodbite ring. Very rarely will you bleed out. Pair it with pyromancy flame and by Orstein and Smough, you're a god. Only thing you gotta learn is the distance otherwise you're open for a moment, and that could kill you, but at least you don't have to worry of accidently bleeding out to death after a few hits. :D Pair it with Black Bow of Pharis and you can simply take out the Helkite in a few back and forth strikes (NG+) or head on in first playthrough. It also makes fighting sif, those fatass demons, and most of late game a lot easier. Not sure how effective it is in PVP since i don't play online. (i kinda want to... to see how good i really am. but it's the twinks i am concerned about. among my playing on the switch.)

This would probably pair up really well with the gargoyle tail, what with the increased bleed resistance it gives you and the dex scailing.

i just started using it have to say this thing is great for shreading trough health cough cough including mine

                                              • Anonymous

Does bleed resistance cap at 800 still like in the original Dark Souls? Before patch XX.XX.XX I had 1500 bleed Res and swore by this weapon. 800 is decent but its not great.
