I got 1 red titanite slab for approximately 85 runs (2 chaos eater kills per run then homeward back) with 410 item discover.
So essentially a stack of 99 homeward bones should get you 1 red slab with 410 discovery if you destroy 2 chaos eaters per run. (Remastered edition)

why on earth would the blue and white slabs be in the dlc, but not the red one? theres even a hidden doorway you need a light source for that has a chest which contains a red chunk instead. its like miyazaki himself is trolling everyone with this

I just fixed the mistake that the previous guy put on the page, you have to trade a +15 with snuggly to get the Red Titanite Slab, not a +0, I just got a Red Titanite Chunk and I was raging about it.

Traded the Pyromancy Flame (0+) and received a Red Titanite Chunk…

Can confirm if you ascend your pyromancy flame 15 + to ascended 0+ with the chaos whitch in blightown. The bird nest will give you a red titanite slab. Don't trade your flame 0 that hasn't been upgraded at all or you will get a red chunk.

For those of you who want to make a build with multiple max upgrade level fire/chaos weapons, and who don't care about pyromancy, you can actually get two flames: One from Laurentius and the other from Eingyi (I haven't tested if one flame needs to be in storage box when you get the other, and I also haven't tested what happens when you start as a pyromancer) but with both flames you can get up to 3 guaranteed slabs in one playthrough. Hope this helps!

False information: You do NOT get a Red Titanite Slab by giving the crow an unupgraded Pyromancy Flame !!!!!! Instead you just receive a Red titanite chunk.
