Ring of Steel Protection is a Ring in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Players can equip up to 2 Rings, but equipping two of the same item is not possible.
Effects
- Increases physical defense by 50 points.
Location
- Sen's Fortress at the top of the first rolling boulder area. A Serpent Mage is standing in the entrance, and the ring is in a chest behind him.

Application
- This ring is a great way to improve your odds of surviving a physical attack, but this ring, as well as it's brethren, are enemy specific however this is much more universal as all enemies deal physical damage in some way.
- A great Ring for all builds and armor varieties due to it solidly increasing defense.

Think of it like a 5th armor piece, adds about as much physical defense as havels leggings

contrary 2 popular belief i believe having this ring is better than FAP ring if ur using light armor. got up to 300 physical defence and like 250 in every other category with pyromancer set +9, 10 humanity, and this ring. barely even took damage lol

Is this like all the other steel protection rings or does it actually do anything?

This ring's flat defence is actually useful if you do the sen's skip glitch and access it early
