Tin Darkmoon Catalyst is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.

Catalyst born from the soul of the Dark Sun Gwyndolin, Darkmoon deity who watches over the abandoned city of the Gods, Anor Londo. Gwyndolin is Gwyn's lastborn and a legitimate god, but he is also a Moon sorcerer, and this wand is boosted by faith, not intelligence."

How to Get / Where to Find the Tin Darkmoon Catalyst

  • Ascend: From any catalyst, along with Dark Sun Gwyndolin's soul, at the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo.

Notes

  • Give to Frampt to receive 50 souls.
  • This catalyst scales Mag Adj according to your Faith stat.
  • To cast spells with it, you will still need the minimum Int requirement.

How to defeat bosses using faith/miracle build?

      Step 1: get darkmoon catalyst
Step 2: get dusk crown and dragon ring
      Step 3: get 16 int
      Step 4: spam dark bead
Step 5: spam more dark bead

        - Tin Darkmoon Catalyst: "[...] and this wand is boosted by faith, not intelligence."
        - Velka's Talisman: "It casts miracles not by drawing upon faith, but intelligence."
        - Book of the Guilty: "he goddess of Sin, Velka, oversees this list of the guilty, who have disrespected the Gods or their covenants, and shall one day face the wrath of the Blades of the Darkmoon."

One the opposite of the other, but with the same purpose.
        Gwyndolin IS Velka.

        • To cast spells with it, you will still need the minimum Int requirement.

Bullshattery it is. Whats the point, then? I dont want to put anything into int. Why arent the requirements for faith instead? Sure, you can use Low requirement spells but for effective use, you want to have something like Soulspear or smt. Especially If you want to cosplay Gwyndolin, which i am planning to do. And this wont make it easier.

Remember cleric: Dark Bead and Orb only require 16 INT. You have the dark equivalent of Great Heavy Soul Arrow, and Crystal Soul Spear, with only goddamn 16 int!

Ah yes... When you are pure and holy knight or cleric with strong faith but still feel the urge to fire Dark Bead.

It’s actually really good that this exists: sorcery has so many good utility spells (fall control, hush, repair, cast light, etc) that clerics don’t have access to otherwise, and they’re definitely worth the 10 levels in Int to get to 18. And if you’re a pure caster, those levels are easy to attain and the alternative spells with many more uses would be good

Unlike Velka's Talisman this one is actually reasonably usable, at 25 Intelligence and 50 Faith you get access to all of the Sorceries outside of Pursuers, both Soul Spear variants and White Dragon Breath, and they complement the Miracles as well. While they're generally weaker than the stronger Miracles you get more uses and faster casting speeds, plus you can get multiple copies of most of them in a single NG cycle.

Also if you're willing to go for Pursuers (32 int) or Soul Spear (36 int), it's only surpassed by the Tin Crystalization Catalyst and Manus Catalyst which halve your casts so those are only good if you're looking for nuking stuff and not general use.

Though I'd argue that 25 Intelligence is the ideal amount as you get four soulmasses with Homing Soulmass and Homing Crystal Soulmass and Crystal Magic Weapon which is a more versatile weapon buff than Darkmoon Blade despite being weaker (only applies in NG+) with more uses, it's duration being extended with the Lingering Dragoncrest Ring and the fact that it's not tied to any Covenants either, so you can use it and Sunlight Spear at the same time if you want to.

This is really good with Darkmoon talisman in left hand, pursuers, sunlight spear, and dark orb for it's off casting time. Just an example of int fth harmony

with my faith at 33 it still does less magic damage than my regular catalyst.....so what's the bloody point.

if this game had skeptic's + simpleton's spices this might be more useful but i ain't aboutta drop a bunch of levels into int on my cleric

For the record: The Oolacile Ivory Catalyst (which doesn't scale with anything) outperforms this up until faith 30

This is basically a Faith build's access to Sorcery, but why would you want sorcery when you have LIGHTNING BOLTS AT YOUR DISPOSAL.
