I'm not even mad at the lack of damage to the equipment but at the lack of imagination when creating this pyromancy, which is the worst in all DS. Not only it doesn't damage the opponent, but the casting, the effects, all subpar to what a normal dude like you and me would get from going to a lab and start spraying acid into each other's eyes. Wasted potential, since acid is a GREAT force of nature. In fact, it would've been hardcore if you could melt players or other undeads with it if you kill them inside the AoE. As always, Pyromancy's crime of being too awesome for its own good.

If this pyromancy would act like gaping dragon's puke and ruin whole gear within few seconds it would be usefull since it would reduce oponents atak and defence and force him to use repairing powder or spell.

But now if you invade someone who is afk and use both casts with full duration on him you will only lightly scratch his gear. Srsly you will have to get like 10 copies of this crap and spam all of them to actually destroy something.

Practically it can be only used as fear factor - someone may run/roll away and avoid this fog cause he won't know that it's harmless.

The description makes it sound so cool, why is it so lame!? I think the only actual use case (since that's only 8 durability damage if they were to stay in it, which ofc big mist bad -> gtfo) would be a spacing tool or to hide what your attack will be, as the cloud is p opaque.

If this pyromancy was more powerful, you could at least partially ruin a player's playtrough by payring it with the dark hand: why just kill him when you can steal his humanities, to prevent him from summoning phantoms for some time, and destroy his armor and weapons, so that he also can't use his build, or has to spend some souls to repair them, which is going to be hard, because if we are talking about a host or a red invader, and if this host or invader doesn't have any hard souls, he has to either kill some enemies or retrieve his blood stains, all of this while he is using a broken build or one that he's not comfortable using.

            • It removes one Durability per second for a total of 8 Durability lost. Almost every item in the game has minimum 300 Durability...unless someone is running all Crystal gear its use is questionable.

Is two casts powerful enough to break something or do I need to go on ng+ and get another acid surge for it to actually break something?

                  • honestly its the only thing people will avoid like the plague nobody wants their items broken so it can be used to cut off areas from either attacking phantoms or fleeing hosts and to stand in to get away from attacks but the casting time is slow but for what it is not bad it can be useful but thats just because people dont know what it does, dark souls just kind of trains you to not ***** with brown goo because itll end badly with crusty clothes and weapons but to be honest worse case scenario if you stand in it the whole time like you were trying to break your stuff / are afk it only does 8 damage to durability per cast so unless they run through the game to get to ng +7 and have a ***** ton of castings of this and are just trying to break peoples***** then its low key pretty useless and wont do much if its just 1 or 2 casts but nobody knows that. I understand why its garbage like they dont want people to be able to invade and just break everyone's***** super duper easily but it makes it*****ty for the pvp when it does 1 durability damage per second and thats just if someones actively in it like people dont know its actually garbage so they avoid it so it works good but it is real bad and basically just for trolls and area denial for people who are ignorant to how bad it really is but id say its better than toxic mist for that exact reason and theres double the casts, maybe not as good as poison mist depending on what youre trying to do but mostly in pvp this will be better than every mist pyromancy there is
