Black Flame is a Pyromancy in Dark Souls. To cast a pyromancy, you must use a Flame or Special Weapons that can cast Pyromancies.
A Pyromancy discovered from the Dark Abyss by a pyromancer who wandered into Oolacile. Conjure a great flame into one's palm.
Black Flames are weighty and cause Physical damage. Enough to smack away the mightiest of shields.
Usage
- Melee-range spell
- Similar to Great Combustion. A quick and powerful close-range spell designed to break guards. Consumes a very high amount of stamina when blocked.
Acquired From
- Found on a corpse in the Chasm of the Abyss. (PTDE and Remastered only)
Notes
- Does a combination of physical and fire damage.
- This Pyromancy is not required for the trophy post-patch.
Anonymousbroken pyro for PvP. if ur running a dex build get 45 dex and a cast of black flame. it does a massive 60 poise damage. ( which is why havel mom great club is exactly 61 poise btw ) great damage and insane util. great on wakeup good too spam good whenever you dont feel like going for a backstab legit absurd

To boost damage: Fully Upgraded Pyromancy Flame + Crown of Dusk + Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring + Power Within. Tested on Hollow Soldiers near Sunlight Altar for 1033 Damage. In PVP, get someone’s back against a wall and rattle off as many as you can in a row. They will chew through shield guard/stamina to stun lock. Keep Great Combustion as a back up.

Quality Build essential spell since you’re probably rocking Regular +15 Weapons. Hammer on the one handed R1 damage, break shield guard with Black Flame in left hand, R2 finisher.

Pyromancy Flame does not scale with physical stats thus physical damage part of Black Flame is fixed. Fire damage however depends on Pyromancy Flame uprade. Thus on fully ascended pyro flame Great Combustion is better when it comes to damage (pure fire damage instead of split fire/phys) but Black Flame deals much additionaly much more poise damage. That makes both pyromances extremely deadly at close range and thats why you should be really carefull if someone use pyro glove on pvp.
