Black Knight Sword is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Not to be confused with the Black knight great sword.

"Greatsword of the Black Knights who wander Lordran. Used to face chaos demons."
"The Large motion that puts the weight of the body into the attack reflects the great size of their adversaries long ago."

How to Get / Where to Find the Black Knight Sword

Hints and Tips:

    • Give to Frampt to receive 50 souls.
    • *CD: This weapon has a hidden damage modifier when used against Chaos Demons (+20%?).
    • An excellent mid-level weapon with decent swing speed. At 40 Str and 18 Dex, Attack rating is a decent 500. Good for stun-locking weak armored and low poise enemies.
    • Very effective two hand weapon. Two handed weak attack is relatively fast and does high damage. Two handed heavy attack is devastating when timed correctly - the player swings the blade vertically upward, causing enemies with low - mid poise to be flung backwards.
    • Cannot be buffed.

Brutally good weapon, fantastic against bosses and crowds. The long windup speed leaves you very vulnerable to interruption, but if you land the hit, you can get a speedy follow-up hit. Few enemies can withstand a 1-2 punch from this.

Like someone else, I died so many times to the black knight in the undead burg, and when I finally learned to parry him this sword dropped.

I've gotten this TWICE now from the Undead Burg knight on separate files, and both times I was too deep into another build to be able to use it. Currently going for a faith build with Astora Straight Sword and I have 4 Twinkling Titanites before even facing the Bell Gargoyles. It makes me so sad that this is happening.

So this cant be forged into enchanted weapon? I just found enchanted choals or something to give to a blacksmith and i wondered if there is anything i can do other than bringing it to +5 with twinkling.

Oh, how I love thee. Carried me through the early game - I mean, on my second character, first got the BKH which made half the game a joke - and remained viable late game. But, if you can give up the stats for the higher requirements, and carry 6 more equip load points, I'd just say use the Halberd. Imo if you get this, use it unupgraded until you've killed the Halberd knight. If it drops off the first Halberd Knight, In darkroot basin, then use that instead, or use it once you meet the requirements. Otherwise, this is great. I love it. Did I mention I love this sword? R2s arent very good in PvP though. Nice for knocking lizards off the platforms though.

Why does the guard curve towards the wielder's hands? To me it just seems like it would get in the way of gripping the handle. It's a small thing, but it seems a little silly.

My first time playing, died to the first black knight more than a dozen times, and when I finally learned how to parry and killed him, this baby dropped. Carried me to first try most bosses up to Anor Londo. Still my favourite weapon.

This weapon is simply insane.. I got it once. Upgraded it for fun up to +3 and just wanted to try out. It was just the rtime for Capra demon - and yea, you can guess. I one shot him with drop attack for 1100 damage. Easy souls, prepare to live edition!! Since then we are in love..

Love this weapon. I tend to use it through out NG and it's easy to max out before Anor Londo if you head to the Great Hollow and get them lizards! Honestly, two handed, it works damned great for pve. Not fast enough for PVP unless you're rocking serious poise and armor for trades and punishes, but that feels harder than I would want to master when I could just carry a great sword....

The black knight at the burg dropped it. Was planning for a dex build but immediately started leveling strength as it was so early in the game. It was doing insane damage with the minimum stats and +3 upgrade. Breezed through the game basically.

I have made 3 characters that have killed the black knight at the Undead Burg and I haven't received it once. Am I just unlucky or am I doing something wrong?

I probably discover something new with this weapon. If we kill silver knights with this weapon we have +20% more souls.Sorry my english very potato.

Keep in mind the sword /does not/ go past +5, so if you're thinking you can make this sword any better than that, well I'm sorry to say, that's not happening. Good luck.

A neat trick to kill the Undead Burg`s black knight in 1 hit, any lvl.26 May 2016 04:02

The backstab attack always throws the enemy away a bit, far enough for this trick:Go near a dangerous ledge, circle around his charging stab, and use a backstab to throw him to his death.Risk; the knight's attacks have quite a knockback, so you'll be at the same risk of falling down, especially when he decides to swing instead of thrust. Still, if you're low level, one or two hits will end you anyway.I used the wooden bridge connecting to the tower where the bonfire is. Easy retrieval of souls if you happen to fail (was actually the main reason I lured him all the way back there, imagine my surprise when I 1-hit-killed hím instead, hah)
