Blue Tearstone Ring is a Ring in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Players can equip up to 2 Rings, but equipping two of the same item is not possible.
Effects
- Boosts physical, magical, flame and lightning defenses by 50% when health is below 20%.
Location
- Undead Burg, guarded by a Black Knight.
- Can be looted by jumping from the bridge near the bonfire to the balcony where the ring is.
- Can also be looted from jumping down from where the hollows that throw firebombs are. If positioned right this is an easier jump to make than the bridge jump. Jump from approximately where the farthest left hollow stands.
- Video Location Timestamp 8:30
Application
- A reincarnation of the Rat ring set, but the defense bonus this time is more potent (used to be 30% on the rat ring). This ring is recommended for anyone who is very conservative with their flasks.
- This ring will not increase your defense when hit by an attack that would normally kill you if you are above 20% health. It does not provide a "safety net"; the player needs to actually be alive at 20% health in order for the ring to work.
- Because it uses a percentage, additional vitality will give you a larger health pool at 20%.

At max health you have 2280. So 20% = 456. Still pretty good. It depends on how much you put on VITALITY. If you are a caster forget this. This ring is meant for beefy tanks with lots of HP and high defense. The added 50% def is crazy when it kicks in.

I can't tell you how many times I've lived with what seems like 1HP thanks to this ring. I don't think it works exactly how it's written, hits that would knock you into 20% HP must get reduced as well, and there may be a secondary effect to it.
Its funny when I am invading in the parish and suddenly a tear stone aura appear. I used to thing oh crap, now Im going to get two shot, but that never happens, also it is usually the first ring people get, so that is the only time they would wear it.

This ring would be so much more balanced if instead it gave you a defense boost so long as you were over 80% health.

Very well ring! I use it with a parry shield, and I can block much hits!

A useless ring. Most, if not all, players can off you when your at 20% health or below. No one in their right mind would also wear this in PVE when there are so many better choices.

It's essentially 20% more HP, on paper. In practise, you don't drop to exactly 20% health, and it means that trickle healing like Replenishment can be dangerous.
