Composite Bow is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.
Composite bow emphasizing power. Requires more strength than standard bows.
However, its range is shorter, making it unfit for sniping.
How to Get / Where to Find the Composite Bow
- New Londo Ruins, on a ledge above the large gates overlooking Valley of Drakes.

- This bow is classified as a short bow. It fires faster than Long bows.

Regular Upgrades are performed by Andre of Astora at the Undead Parish.
Regular +6 requires a regular +5 weapon and to hand in the Large Ember. Regular +11 requires a regular +10 weapon and to hand in the Very Large Ember.
Regular Reinforcement Scales 60% for Strength and 60% for
Dexterity to increase your AR.
To reach max, you need: 3,000 souls, 9 titanite shards to +5, 9 large titanite shards to +10, 7 titanite chunks to +14 and 1 titanite slab to +15
Crystal Upgrades are performed by the Giant Blacksmith at Anor Londo.
Crystal Upgrades require a regular +10 weapon and to hand in the Crystal Ember.
Crystal Reinforcement reduces weapon Durability by 10, but increases base damage. It scales 60% for Strength and 60% for
Dexterity to increase your AR.
To reach max, you need: 1000 souls, 8 titanite chunks to +4 and 1 titanite slab to +5

Lightning Upgrades require a regular +10 weapon, but no special Ember is required.
Lightning Reinforcement removes all scaling but adds Lightning Damage.

Raw Upgrades require a regular +5 weapon and to hand in the Large Ember.

Magic Upgrade +1 requires a regular +5 weapon. Magic +6 requires a Magic +5 and to hand in the Large Magic Ember

You want to do a bow run? Get this bow to regular +15, 40 points in dex and you good! On top of all that, no need for mid game darkmoon bow or SUPER expensive moonlight arrows, just regular one gets the job done!

What is the best bow for a bow that wants to primarily deal magic damage? Utilising the moonlight arrows of course. I would assume this one with the highest base magic damage for the +10 magic path. However, with enough intelligence are some of the other bows eventually worth it? Considering this bow gets a A scaling in intelligence whilst others can get an S.
On my build I also have 45 dex, perhaps The Black Bow of Pharis is the best option, being the only bow that still can give a C scaling for dex while also giving a S scaling for intelligence. But then again, I am considering split damage, which isn't really that important to look at.
Likely for any build if you don't spesifically want to be a sniper, this bow is the best because high fire rate and higher base damage.
That's my conclusion, but if you guys think otherwise let me know why and tell me if I missed anything

So I infused my composite bow to lightning, but for a bow to utilize its elemental damage, it needs the corresponding arrow type, and there are no lighting arrows in this game...

I can't ascend the bow past +5 despite having all embers, as in it's not giving the option at the smith in the parish. Anyone else facing this problem?

Is this the best Bow for Lightning/Fire/Chaos? Ich think so because of highest base damage with no scaling, but i'm not sure.

Can be obtained immediately upon reaching Firelink Shrine by running through New Londo if you're slippery like the eel. Bone out and pair this bow with another quality weapon for a nice physical warrior build.
