How to Get / Where to Find the Darksword
- Obtained by reaching Rank 2 in the Darkwraith Covenant.
Hints and Tips:
- Can be given to Kingseeker Frampt to receive 50 Souls.
- One handed R2 heavy attack is a upward slash followed by a downward slash that can be chained with one handed light attacks.

There are few things more appropriate than killing Gwyndolin with a +5 Occult Darksword.

I dont really care if its not the best. having beat the game a bunch of times already, to me the games more about pacing yourself than making the best possible build. also the swords cool and has a funny moveset :D

Don't be fooled by seeing how deadly darkwraith mobs are when swinging with this thing. In players hands its just for show with it's fancy moveset.
Short range for such big weapon will make your dancing and slicing moves simply miss. Medium speed and damage also nothing special with poise damage. Pretty average sword maybe even below average.
Yea sure it can be deadly in hands of a good player but same rule goes with every weapon in this game.
If you are bored and want a challenge roleplaying evil darkwraith go for it. Otherwise I don't recomend.

Is this weapon NOT in Dark Souls remastered? This might be a stupid question, google seems to be giving conflicting information,

For a really hard to get item that requires finding secret covenant and offering big bunch of humanity it's really crappy. It looks nice and have even nicer looking dancing moveset but falls behind other swords. You need to be very close to the enemy if you don't want end cutting air. As with the rest of darkwraith's stuff we've been trolled by game creators. Thank you Dark Souls.
Very beautiful Sword with a very beautiful moveset, but it lacks reach and damage.

i already put the lordvessel in fire link , is it possible to still get the sword?

I'm going to walk up to Ingward in the entire Darkwraith set and kill him witb this sword after using the Darkhand.

Note: the second heavy attack will often miss after the first due to its short reach unless your right up against the enemy
Another thing, is this a once per play through thing, I didn't see it mentioned above.
Because if it is, imagine making it crystal
How does this compare to other straight swords?
just wondering because I have never actually considered it for a dedicated pvp build

I had a very strange encounter and not sure if its a glitch but after receiving the sword from the serpant I turned around and had several dark wraiths form a circle around me and spoke to me in a foreign tongue, yet the odd thing is , I understood every word.

Question: Best infuse for this weapon? I found that Chaos +5 was rather lackluster contrary to popular opinion. What works best with this weapon? Regular path with scaling?
- Anonymous

Would it be wise to invest this sword towards the Occult path? A god killing dark sword sounds absolutely badass to use in Darkwraith standards

Does every weapon that is fully upgraded with the Enchanted path always have A scaling or is that someone just trolling?

Dupe glitch for some reason doesn't work with this equipped on Xbox 360.

For a quality build, would this or the broad sword be better? they seem to have the same scaling and dmg at +15. I suppose the moveset is the biggest difference.

While that lore page by Rakuyo was a capitvating, fascinating read I'd suggest adding a warning because of the sheer amount of images. Third world countries like Germany with mobile data caps just above several bytes / year will be pleased.

they are savage beasts. Even Vilhelm, a Londor knight, despise them as "mad hollows".

I don't know if it's a "me" issue, but the normal straight swords feel unbelievably weak.
My dark sword is +10 and it only hits the snakes in send fortress for 16 damage.
The drake sword does it's normal damage, but my dark sword, which scaling has a higher rating than the drake sword +0...the difference in damage is unreal.
Did 38 a swing against the spiders in blight town helping out a friend of mine.
I have 32 strength and 18 dex.
