Its sad to me you have to either sacrifice master key or sack for this.. Sack is a nice looking piece of equipment too.. And master key helps level up earlier...

my gosh this brings me back, this was the first item description i read when i first started DSR. the sense of nostalgia is amazing and i wish i could forget it all and play it again!
Step 1: level up that strenght, vitality and endurance
Step 2: upgrade this bad boy for +15
Step 3: take that armor off
Step 4: use helm of choice
Step 5: chad on 'em
Optional: get weapon upgrading bs

doesn't deal as much damage as the demon's greataxe, but since it's a hammer, it stuns more and is better for trading damage

Best Strength weapon for taking out Hydras. Just get the weapon from Asylum Demon or Snuggly, make it at least +5 (or Raw if you're replacing it later) get Strength up to 31 and head down to Darkroot Basin.
The range, power and moveset are amazing for that fight, even at just +5 or Raw.

The chart currently says that the Divine upgrade path gives it a C scaling for Intelligence. Is that a mistake? It should be for Faith, correct?

Loses about 12 attack rating at 66 STR when two-handed in exchange for more useful heavy attacks. Weighs just enough to mid-roll on my SL 120 Havel tank. I approve!

clicking " weapon " up top links to a blank fallout 76 page. what? how tf did y'all do that?

Had lots of fun in a Demon's Great Hammer ONLY run. Kill Asylum Demon however you want but getting the Hammer. Then from that point onward only Hammer can be used (do not equip it for now). Then search the world for consumable Souls until you can wield it. You WILL get to places you never thought you needed. Bandit starts with more Strength, but you will need to kill Asylum by punch. Thief starts with 9, but can use firebombs, and needs almost every consumable soul possible. You choose your challenge

most might hate it due to the weight, and slightly lower damage compared to the greatclub, buuuut.... I think this thing looks cooler, and it has a better R2.

"bewary of beating to a pulp" *snickers, then slams hammer over hollow's head*

pick thief starter class and starting gift black firebombs. the thief gets the master key already and then you can melt and get the hammer great for a hammer only challenge run against friends

Sack, or Hammer. Sack, or F**CKING DEMON HAMMER. I dunno guys I think the Sack may be more worth it... Snuggly can keep the death hammer.

When the remaster comes out im going to use the firebomb starting gift and invest everything into strength. It will be some people's first time playing DS1, they will be so confused

I think this weapon has a hidden durability breaker ability against enemies especially pvp . Or does it nullify enemy effects aswell ?
It's heavier than the Great Club, and lacks the wide-angle swipe and poison of the Large Club, and sure as heck has a higher strength requirement... but since i've ritualistically begun fisting the Asylum Demon's rumpus to death each playthrough, i have wielded this at various points, and am proud of it.
.... even screamed in glee when i saw it returned in ds2. A lack of ds3 version made me cry, though.
