"Greatshield with an eagle design. Lightest and easiest greatshield to handle."
"Greatshields are very stable, and deflect attacks. But one cannot parry, and instead bashes with the shield."
Acquired from:
- Blighttown treasure, found on a rafter close to the upper area Bonfire.
- Video Location Timestamp 6:35
Notes:
- Both the lightest and least Strength reliant greatshield in the game, an excellent tool for anyone looking for heavy deflection on a character with low strength and/or endurance.
- Although it sould be noted that the Iron Round Shield (a standard shield) also boasts heavy deflection at even lower required Strength, higher Physical Damage reduction and a parry instad of a bash, albeit at slightly lower Stability.

Very good pick when you need that extra poise to block bosses attacks. Great choice for sorcerers so they can hide behind it after casting spell and also can poke with Butter Spear from behind it.

The sole reason why I didn't lose my sanity with the Bed of Chaos.

For those that still play casual PVE: you can get this before you fight the Taurus demon if you start with the master key. Start with the Bandit, farm/buy Titanite to get your axe to +5, next run to the blight town bonfire and farm the green titanite to get your axe to magic+3 or higher this will allow you to kill crag spider in your way in 1 heavy swing and in order to evade the toxic snipers. White moss is advised but not required, also keep that spider shield up as it has 100% toxic/poison immunity. Then simply ascend until you reach the shield. It took me about 1.5-ish hours to obtain and I only need to level up 2 levels to wield. It made the Capra demon fight a complete joke.

"slightly lower Stability" I think I'd call a difference of 15 at minimum & maximum upgrades a bit more than 'slight'

Not sure there is any good excuse for this thing to not have 100% physical damage reduction.
But otherwise it’s a pretty good Greatshield for the relatively low weight and requirements compared to other Greatshields.
This is an amazingly broken shield. Pretty much anyone can wield it and the ease with which it holds off boss attacks at high upgrade is a minor price to pay for taking just five percent of the damage.
If you want to face roll the game but don't want to get to an Artoria's Greatshield or any of it's peers, From's got you covered. If you want to cut Kalameet's tale the easy way, this is what you want. Yes, it can take alot of elemental damage but if you have the right armor set up, you can ignore that, too. It's also nice for O and S if you want to face roll that fight.

For me, it’s not really a general purpose shield because it has only 95% physical damage reduction and can’t parry, but when you need high stability in a package that isn’t obscenely heavy, the Eagle Shield delivers in spades. With a strength requirement of only 16, it works very well with my dex character.

lol i made it crystal..now its broken i can't use and can't repair it anymore. so stupid

Good shield should be used against Artorias boss fight and is very light but can't parry
i normally use it with ornstein's set or havel's set

Amazing shield. Great for when you want great stability and resistances without fat rolling. I use it when I need that over dank stamina regen and don't wanna parry

The upgraded version of this shield has great enough stability to block Artorias attacks.

God-awful shield. Possibly the objectively worst greatshield in the game.

Wait what? the default stability is 70.... so..... why exactly does it say that stability is 70 at max when its higher?

From the bonfire in Upper Blighttown. Begin heading forward on the path that takes you down toward the swamp, toward the two Fire Dogs and pink hollow. Defeat them and keep following the path. Take the ladder down. Turn right back toward the stone bridge you just walked on and there will be another ladder down. Take it and defeat the pink hollow at the bottom. From here, follow the path which hugs the giant stone pillar. Defeat one last hollow and the shield will be at the end of the stone beam. Be wary of enemies following you down.
