Falchion is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.
Small, curved sword. Each hit inflicts little damage, but fluid chain attacks are deadly.
The falchion's sharp slashing attacks are effective against cloth and flesh, but not against metal armor or tough scales."
How to Get / Where to Find the Falchion
- Blighttown treasure, found along with Wanderer clothes.
- Dropped by skeletons (Falchion) in The Catacombs and at Firelink Shrine.
- An Enchanted version drops from a Mimic in the The Duke's Archives.
- Video Location Timestamp 31:38
Hints and Tips:
- Give to Frampt to receive 50 souls.
- A very slightly stronger version of the Scimitar. The scaling is identical on both, but the Falchion will always do a few more points of damage.
- Compared to the Scimitar, the Falchion has one more point of weight.
- Kick motion is replaced with a backwards flip attack.
- Demon's souls version: Has bleed damage and the 2-hand R2 is a combo.

i love how some pvp tryhards call me kiddo or bud and then i meet them irl and they look like gollum from lotr

Parrying is extrimely riscky when it`s buffed. Try to wait until DMB or SLB runs out.

Dunno what's wrong with me but I thought this was a greatsword for the longest time.

Am I the only one that has been bothered by the fact that this is a dexterity weapon in every souls game? It isn't a cutting weapon like the other curved swords. The falchion is, in reality, a chopping weapon much like a machete. A devastating one at that. Should have been quality or even possibly strength priority.

I decided to look at this page because I really liked this weapon for my caster build in ds3 (low stat req). I had no idea it was so hated in ds1 though lol

Man these comments prove the souls community are a bright bunch.

I don’t really understand the idea of allowing this weapon class to stunlock until stamina drain while 2 handing but not a class like straight swords. It kind of defeats the purpose of different weapon classes when some are simply given huge benefits over the others in an arbitrary way. Straight swords are some of the rarest weapons I see in PvP and it makes sense if you’re looking to optimise for winning. They stopped this in the later games to be fair but I’d love to know what the team were thinking back then regardless hmm

the best use of this fast lights is make it buffed. indeed you will have a hard time encountering poise and heavy weapon users but it's quite fast recover can sometimes get you out of trouble, or even lure a backstab. I am kind of recommending use a shield against a falchion r1 spam, you can both block or parry if you feel comfortable.

I love the amount of salt in thiz comment section, you been sad

Despite all the hate it gets, I think a bit of R1-buff-spamming is the most effective way to kill several gankers at once, so long as you don't lock on. And gankers are 90% of the playerbase in DSR anyway, so why not?

this things moveset is more bland than kira yoshikage without a stand and a hand fetish

Just a heads up, you might want to include the video location in blighttown and not just the Duke's Archives.

Great stone knight armor + buckler + large club = the best counter for R1 Falchion scrubs
- Anonymous
Invest in some *****ing poise you morons. No weapon in dark souls is OP if you know how to counter it. I can kick ass with a whip, but that is considered a***** weapon. Most weapons aren't***** and no weapon is OP.
- Anonymous
I'll put an op buff on a fast weapon and hit r1 a bunch then say all my opponents are bad at the game :DDDDDDDDDDD
Fun to parry if you can manage, but if you have no poise and screw up that timing; good-night Irene. But this isn't solely to blame, as there's also that hex spell that just destroys people instantly; and ye ol backstabs of course. All in all, if you dabble in any co-op or PvP in this game; beware thar be monsters out there mate.

Any weapon is good, calm the fuck down people. Well, any weapon except the Broken Straight Sword, Straight Sword Hilt, or Balder Side Sword.
