Fire Surge is a Pyromancy in Dark Souls. To cast a Pyromancy, you must use a Flame or Special Weapons that can cast Pyromancies.
Pyromancy foreign to the Great Swamp. Create a surge of flame from palm of hand.
Not all pyromancy originates in the Great Swamp. One hears rumors of unknown pyromancers inhabiting various lands, and this spell is the work of one such outlander.
Usage
- Short Ranged Attack
- Shoots a continous stream of fire from your palm.
Acquired From
- Located in Painted World of Ariamis. Dropped from the Bloated Dredge which can be found by either dropping through the well in the main courtyard or going through the invisible walls via the basement where the Annex Key is also found.

Notes
- You can lock onto enemies and hold the spell button down to fire the spell. This will use the spell up until depleted or you let go of the button.
- The Bloated Dredge that drops the spell won't attack you unless you aggravate it first.
- If you miss out on the spell the first time you kill the Bloated Dredge, you can go back to do it again until you pick the spell up.
- A current game bug means that this spell can slow down and even freeze your consoles when using it against certain enemies. It can also cause other players to drop out when doing PvP.

It looks like flamethrower but it's actually more like spray can and lighter. I mean it looks cool but damage is weak and there's almost none poise damage. So enemies will not stay and let you roast them but will fight back.

Really fun pyromancy. You can tap fire it and it only uses one or two casts out of 80 to kill weak enemies

I love the mistery surrounding this spell. You find it behind two illusory walls, presumably being hold by a crying bloated dredge. Who was he? Why did he have It? Did he know how to use It? Why was he crying? A lot of questions that will never have an answer.

wait, so you mean that the great swamp people were able to come up with crazy moves like fire tempest, but they never discovered how to make something as obvious as a flamethrower? That's rich.
Planning on trying a low level troll build with this power within, belowing dragon crest ring, crown of dusk, pyro flame +5 and wolf ring. Be prepared for a good roasting.
