Flash Sweat is a Pyromancy in Dark Souls. To cast a pyromancy, you must use a Flame or Special Weapons that can cast Pyromancies. 

Pyromancy of Carmina, who harnessed the power of flame to actualize the inner-self. Intense sweating reduces flame damage.
Carmina, the most accomplished pupil of Salaman the Master Pyromancer, pioneered new directions for the art of pyromancy.

Usage

• Personal Buff
• Duration: 60 seconds
  
• Covers player in water, generating an accompanying sound effect that can be a giveaway in PvP. Reduces fire damage by 45%.

• Laurentius at the Firelink Shrine after saving him in The Depths

Notes

• Flash Sweat is a Self Buff and interferes with other such buffs (i.e. Great Magic Barrier, Green Blossom, Power Within, etc.). As long as it's active it's not possible to cast other Self Buffs and vice versa.
• Unsurprisingly, quite useful against pyromancy-themed bosses such as Quelaag, or against pyromancy-reliant opponents in PvP. When utilized, even a fairly low level player with moderate HP can usually survive one or more Great Combustion or Chaos Fireball hits, or even a Fire Tempest, often allowing the user to surprise Pyromancers with magic or melee counterattacks. Particularly effective when paired with a high fire resist shield, but can also be very useful when combined with a high Magic resistant shield to cover one's bases against both damage types. Its relatively long duration also recommends it for invasion PvP, as one can benefit from it for some time even if the location of the invader or invadee is not initially known. It is in fact ideal in this regard for surviving Fire Tempest ambushes and similar surprise attacks.
