Great Axes are a Weapon Category in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Great Axes are the largest and among the heaviest weapons in the game, requiring the highest strength to wield. Their arc attack motion is very slow and not as wide compared to Axes, with a shorter range and leaving users vulnerable to attacks during attack animations. Despite having short reach, Great Axes deal heavy unblockable damage which will break poise and lead to stunlock when used appropriately. Great Axes can be wielded both one or two-handed. Interestingly, attacks are faster when wielding the weapon one-handed than wielding it two-handed.
- Pros: Deals heavy Poise damage which stunlock targets, high Attack Power and good Strength scaling.
- Cons: Very heavy. Slow attack animation, missing the target will leave the player wide open to take damages. Large stamina consumption per hit.

i heard that in ds1 that you can get two boss souls, but you need to defeat the area boss alongside the world host. ive never tried personally, but someone probably has. (this only relates to greataxes bc of the core of an iron golem stuff.) but can anyone clarify? (it would be a **** move to only get two boss souls by someone giving one to you in my opin.)

I hope that I am not the only real only strength user in this game I suck at dexterity and I one of my account is a giant dad so every strength weapons is the best for weapons for me!!!

Most of these might as well not even be axes, the only ones that actually have blades are the Greataxe and Black Knight Greataxe, the other three might as well be shorter but slightly faster great hammers
