Greatbows are a Weapon Category in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Greatbows are huge long-ranged weapons that fire special great arrow ammunition. There are only 2 Great Bows: Dragonslayer Greatbow and Gough's Greatbow.  They are focused on delivering a single-shot damage to knock off opponents, but this also means they have a really poor firing rate and high stamina cost.

  • Pros: Deals high damage with single-shot damage, longer distance than short and long bows and good for knocking off targets.
  • Cons: Only useful for surprise attacks from a distance.
  • Recommendation: Hawk Ring gives more range to complement the Great Bow one shot capability.

  • Note: As with regular bows, the listed strength requirement applies regardless of them being used two-handed.
  • Only Dragonslayer Arrows and Gough's Arrows can be used with these bows - they are not specific to either bow, though.
