Guardian Tail is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.
Sliced tail of the Sanctuary Guardian."
"This flexible, spiked and highly poisonous tail would make a rather obnoxious weapon."
How to Get / Where to Find the Guardian Tail
Cutting off the Sanctuary Guardian's Tail (can also be obtained from one of the Lesser Sanctuary Guardians if missed)
Best way to do so is to equip a weapon with a long reach and decent speed vertical slash, and bait the chimera to do its water splash attack by staying at medium range, GET HIT by it(it just staggers - no damage) prompting the boss to do his charge attack, roll to the right and cut once or twice.
Note:
- Give to Frampt to receive 100 souls.
- Breaks 20 poise per swing.
- Do not expect to easily poison enemies with this,it takes a lot of strikes to do so. But if you have rotten pine resin you can enchant the Guardian Tail with it to quickly build up poison.

kalameet's tail was easier to get than this stupid thing. . .
TIL that the tail do have 100% drop rate BUT, big but, the higher the item discovery rate actually lower the chance of obtaining it.
I was confused when sometimes i cut the lesser guardian's tail and got nothing so i checked the param file and that confirms it.
Pretty sure it's a bug though, since otherwise that'd be very stupid.

Tip for my sorcerer friends. Lock on to the Sanctuary Guardian and circle around to the rear, one crystal soul spear will cut the tail off (I had 44int, and both the dusk crown and bellowing dragon ring on).

Wear heavy armor with lightening resist/poise, along with Zeiweinder. Lure them in so they are just outside the cave that leads to the bonfire, and while still in the cave take one out using the 2 handed strong attack, which can stun lock them. Once one is dead, venture out and wait for it to do its flying dash attack, which leaves its tail exposed. Trying to attack its tail any other time really doesnt work. Much easier than bow approach. Took me 8 minutes.

Was able to get the tail on the first try and did considerable damage... and then I remembered that I was playing dark souls as was *****ed over repeatedly

The whole "cut off the tail" mechanic in this game is trash.
I collected this by shooting the tail off one of the lesser Guardians after they spawned post-bossfight from the safety of the entry tunnel to the Sanctuary (leading up from the bonfire) with Pharis Bow, Hawk Ring & Standard arrows. You can sight their tails above their heads without venturing all the way up & out of the tunnel, and this will give you protection from all their attacks, including the forward ranged lightning attack from their jaws. You may get clipped by some stray blasts until you find a sweet spot & you will have to re-sight regularly as they jump to a new position after 1 or 2 shots, but it is possible & safer than attempting melee attacks on the tails of the Boss or Dual Lesser Guardians.... particularly since the latter don't offer much souls for defeating them, and you may be considering taking out one with ranged attacks anyway.

Why no strength scaling though? I mean, look at the size of the thing and the extra strength req. What a waste of such a cool weapon (big ass scorpion tail) only for it to have worse dmg than the basic whip.
