Fun fact: According to an interview with Mitazaki, Kirk's armor is partly based on Jojo's bizarre Adventure.

In Part 1, knights Tarkus and Bruford had to go through the "Trial of 77 Rings," where they go on a deadly journey. On this journey, they must defeat 77 opponents and take their rings as proof of their victory.

Miyazaki thought this was a cool concept, and so he went (What if they were thorns instead of rings?" Thus, Knight Kirk's armor was born.

I went and killed the Gaping Dragon and then thought, "well time to go over and fight Kirk and get the loot from that area real quick" and was really confused why he wasn't appearing. Good to know that he won't show up after killing those bosses so I need to make sure I do that next time so I can get those free souls and humanity.

He invaded me in the Demon Ruins and died 3 seconds later before I saw him. How do I get his drops?

He wasn't invading me in the Depths even though I was human and boss was alive.
I walked away from his spawn trigger and reloaded (save/quit + continue) and he invaded.
Not sure if walking away is even necessary but figured I'd add it in.

Is it normal for him to invade you in the Kiln of the First Flame? I was invaded by him there, didn’t manage to kill him though.

I was standing by his invasion spot and he wasn't invading (boss was still alive, I was human, nobody else was in my world) so I started looking up reasons why he might not show up. After about 5 minutes of waiting - while standing completely still - he invaded out of nowhere. This game is weird.

I thought he was a real player because I ran away from him and then spammed my shield to which he stopped walked away and then returned home do you have any idea why that happened?

I got invaded by him in the depths. My noob ass didn't know there WERE npc invaders. Thought he was a real guy and was really confused as to why i was able to beat him really easily. Thought maybe 'pvp in this game isn't so hard' big LOL.

So I killed Kirk in The Depths and right before the Bed Of Chaos but I missed him on the second encounter right before the Demon Firesage, does this mean I have to wait until NG+ to get his armor? Or can I somehow still get it?

I was not invaded by Kirk in the depths not having prior defeated the gaping dragon. Why did that happed?

Shoutout: I did NOT kill Kirk in Depths, but killed him in both Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith, and his corpse with loot was in the room with the Fair Lady afterwards, not sure why but it happened.

Remastered on PS4. I’ve been invaden by Kirk in Lost Izalith even I did not fight him before in Depths or Demon Ruins (Gaping Dragon and Demon Firesage already defeated ). But no armor back in Fair Lady’s room as the wiki says (just defeated him once). Anyway I’m posting because I wrongly assumed you couldn’t face him if you had missed previous encounters, but you can.

Will Kirk not invade you if you have a summon with you? For some reason he didn't invade me and that's the only reason I can think of why he didn't, and yes I hadn't killed the Gaping Dragon yet.

I was hollow all through demon ruins and killed Demon Firesage hollow, so I didn’t fight him there. Can I still fight him in Izalith and get his armor?

You can't invade Kirk. Kirk invades you.

If you have "Reversed Hollowing" at a bonfire and walk around the area the article mentions, you will get a message saying Kirk is invading you.

You have to do them in order though.
