The garbage R1 attacks ruin the weapon for me, then again the Gargoyle's Halberd is superior in every single way. Thankfully it got better when it got an actual moveset and not whatever crap it has in this game.

Just slap a lightning upgrade on it and bam, Lightning Lucy.
550 damage for 15str and 12dex. Great choice for anyone who wants to put points into other stuff like miracles.

Ok, this is my opinion... mind that the more you fight with a weapon the better you become with it (and I haven't give the Lucerne a fair amount of time)
That said I think it's a BAD weapon... is not absolute garbage, but definitely on the low side of "Bad Tier". I could never understand people claiming that this is a very good weapon (or comparing this with the awesome Halberd?!! )... The damage output is quite good, and even though the MoveSet looks like it has Slash attacks, it is a Thrust weapon so every attack counts as a Thrust attack, so you can boost your counters with a Leo Ring...
The problem is that the MoveSet in itself it is quite horrible... the One hand and Two Hand R1s are on the slow side (so, quite parryable) even when you connect, but if you fail to connect you get the stumble animation :( and you will be punish... the rest of the Move Set is a little better, but nothing spectacular. The range, which is the whole point of using a Halberd Type is bad (for a Halberd Type) when you are using a Leo you kind of want to keep your distance to punish attack with the counter, but again the Lucerne forces you to play closer...
Is a very difficult weapon to handle, and I've never had any fun with it, but we gotta keep trying, maybe I'll change my mind some day, right?...

If you can manage with the pretty bad r1, this is a really good alternative to the halberd, especially with the leo ring and a high deflect shield

this reminds me of the meridian hammer in demon souls,it isnt as good though

Favorite weapon in the game. It's a beast with Leo Ring and really fun when free aiming.
The 2H-R1 has hit-boxes all around you so you can punish enemies surrounding you or trying to backstab you very easily by free aiming and still manage to hit that one enemy from farther away with the beak. This move can even lead into an easy 2H-R2 on Poise Break and vice versa.
This weapon encourages trading hits or getting into positions an enemy can't hit and counter damaging them to hell. It's also pretry great at catching rolls with its entire moveset.

Great against those pesky armored pigs with no weak spot in Duke's archives.

It seems to swing significantly faster when held in the left hand. I've been running it paired with a Balder Side Sword in the right hand, and it feels pretty good.

It's a bit slow on the fly and has slightly shorter reach than one would expect, but this weapon is grizzly when paired with a greatshield with high stability and the leo ring. Not sure how well it handles in PvP yet, but even black knights get their ass caved by this beast. It just takes some time to master the timing and range of certain attacks, as well as when to restrain yourself so that you don't miss and leave yourself open for retaliation.

Lucerne deals thrust damage, not standard damage, as per item description.
Good starting weapon for early locations. You can grab it at the begining of the game by doing simple suicide run into catacombs (one switch to press & no need to kill anything).
Nothing special when used 1H but quite decent with 2H. Spam R1 to qucikly hack single enemies even if they are blocking you with shields and use R2 for groups.
As with most halberds (except epic Great Scythe and op Black Knight's) Lucerne it becomes obsolete in later stages (bad scalling and too slow for damage done).
Yea sure you can use Leo Ring but why? There are much better thrusting weapons than this one.
