Silver Knight Straight Sword is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.

The silver knights of Anor Londo guard the city using this beautifully slender weapon.
"Its chain attacks, in which the wielder takes great advancing steps and makes use of his bodyweight, are deadly even in single hits."

How to Get / Where to Find the Silver Knight Straight Sword

Hints and Tips:

  • Can be given to Kingseeker Frampt to receive 100 Souls.
  • Silver Knight Straight Sword can be upgraded by using Twinkling Titanite.
  • With 99 Strength and Dexterity and at +5, the attack rating of this sword will be 419.
  • This sword originally had a Divine modifier, but later game patches removed it and made the weapon enchantable instead.
  • Higher base damage compared to other straight swords. Low scaling and weight of 6.0 however make it less optimal choice for PvP than Balder Side Sword or Longsword.
  • You can true combo light attacks after a heavy R2 attack with this weapon, but not vice versa.

Great secondary weapon for int/dex or faith/dex builds during a standard playthrough, obviously thinking about the archives and the crystal caves when the enemies get high magic def. It's not THAT bad, but you'll notice they start taking a whole lot more hits to kill than usual if you keep using your enchanted or divine weapon. Switched to this bad boy, my listed damage was only barely lower with this (+5) at 23 dex than it was with my divine claymore (+10) at 40 faith. And since it's straight physical, it cut down the golems and seath much quicker.

        PROS:
        + good look
        + good damage
        + decent poise damage
        + decent speed
        + decent range
        + enchantable

        CONS:
        - medium scalling (not so big difference between 22 and 40 dexterity)
        - twice as heavy as other straight swords
        - no long range thursting attack

Overall it's good weapon if you want some heavy slashing on build with higher dexterity. You can chain attacks for long combo that will stagger enemy (instability dmg boost) and make quick work of it. It has no other tacticts but this is simple hacking is totally enough to complete whole game even up to NG+6.

lorewise, the sword is enchantable, despite being a unique weapon, is because sliver knights fought dragons daily so they had to imbue it constantly with lightning

Was getting beat down by Ornstein. Then one of these and I farmed and upgraded it and bam! No more Ornstein!!!

Just a neat bit of info, this sword has very high motion value for it's R2 attacks and do quite a bit more damage with these attacks than it's AR would suggests.

I think this might be the best Straight Sword in DS1 overall:
                1. You get it mid game, easy to max out to +5 with Twinkling Titanite because you can farm the giants in Anor Londo for 2 hours and you get the souls to max it out at the Giant black smith that sells Twinkling Titanite.
                2. Insane base damage that is not split + can be buffed with sunblade, reisins etc. Insane dmg on 2h heavys that can 2 shot even the skeletons in Tomb of the Giants.
                3. Solid moveset with overheads attacks + looks decent compared to Balder Side Sword.

Overall high damage, good move set, looks decent, can buff it, can max out instantly its a great weapon.

Hands down this and the black knight weapons are the best end game alternative to a +14 or 15 normal weapon if you ever made the mistake of killing Andre like I did my first play through. It’s Buffable and has great damage output at +5. This weapon carried me to the end of the game.

Great weapon for a 50 faith sunbro. Base dmg beats other straight swords. Looks great with sunlight blade and immaculate design. 9/10 weapon.

I couldn’t beat manus. And then I got this sword. Everything changed. Artorias my dude, you should have picked up one of these.

Looks great and very nice base damage. Scaling is a weakpoint, and moveset lacks a nice thrust. With good dexterity, it puts out very solid damage for a 6 weight, reasonably fast weapon. Could be a really nice sword to use in midgame if lucky enough to drop one in Anor Londo, but loses some of its edge when you get +15 weapon upgrades in the late game.

I was going threw me first play though with a lighting faith/strength build and I had a bss, I found this weapon and loved it but got disappointed it can’t be leveled to lighting :(

                          • Anonymous

Perfect for dex builds who use straight swords but don’t have a titanite slab yet, assuming you can handle the weight. Very easy to upgrade and nice moveset. Even after bringing balder swag sword to +15, I still use skss sometimes to switch things up or in situations where I want vertical slash.

Alongside a silver knight spear it's a best weapon for leveling a dex character. Thanks to twinkling titanite from crystal lizards and anor londo blacksmith you can upgrade this thing to +5 fairly early in the game and comfortably use it till you get enough titanite chunks for a "real" weapon.

They should've swapped the moveset and attack speed of this thing with the balder knight sword, would've even made more sense lore-wise

Best looking sword ingame, and pretty solid too. Too bad it doesn't have the greatest scaling, this thing could steal much more spot on pvp or pve with a B or A scaling on DEX.

Got a bit more lucky in past runs but damn.. on my latest run i have at least 30 Knights and no Sword in sight. Can someone drop me that on the Switch (EU)?

This sword unironically carried me through O&S, it randomly dropped from a Silver Knight and then mowed through them

                                      • Anonymous

Very aesthetic sword and the R2’s are amazing. It’s also worth noting that the swing speed seems identical to other straight swords, it’s only the pause in between each R1 which is longer. Straight swords cannot stun lock with R1s in pvp so this isn’t a disadvantage here unlike say Quelaag’s sword which loses the 2 handed stunlock that the other curved swords have or the heavier greatswords that can’t 1 hand stunlock compared to the claymore.

I love it. Longest straight sword and look cool. Awesome move set, light R1 is a little slower than longsword light R1 but the first heavy R1 is incredibly fast, can chain with both light R1 anytime. Fast slash in wide area and fast heavy swipe down in narrow area, super useful. Only disadvantage is it have a little lower scale than other straight sword, but it base dame is higher so it only be out damage a little by other straight sword when have high strength.

i'm never lucky, even farming humanity from the rats in the depth don't give me much, but i had the absolute luck by getting this sword on my fourth knight, finally a bit of luck in my life

                                            • Anonymous

I farmed for this sword for 2 hours with 10 humanity and the covetous gold serpent ring and couldn't get it. I did however get 4 silver knight shields what have a lower drop rate. Are there any items that increase item drop rate other then those two?

                                              • Anonymous

Let's be real, if this had stat quality/moveset equivalent to the claymore, balder side sword, or gold tracer nobody would use anything else.

                                                • Anonymous

Whenever I do a Dexterity character, i always get 10 Twinkling Titanite from Crystal Lizards before Anor Londo, I farm this sword and upgrade it, and then I destroy O&S.

                                                  • Anonymous

This is the best looking sword in all the dark souls series because it reminds me of Aragorn's Andúril especially the sword's guard too bad it's not available as a drop in Dark Souls III

                                                    • Anonymous

This is the sword from the opening cinematic, the shot where you can see both the dragon and the knight's hand wielding it also, the camera is focused on the handle, brilliant shot. Always wondered if you could actually get that sword in-game.

                                                      • Anonymous

Dex scaling should at least progress into a high B when fully upgraded. Don't know why devs made 80% of mid to late game weapons so lackluster.
