Tin Crystallization Catalyst is a Catalyst in Dark Souls

Tin Crystallization Catalyst Information

Catalyst imbued in terrifying crystal magic. Used by Logan after his fixation on Seath. Makes all sorceries incredibly powerful, but demands extremely high intelligence from its wielder, and halves sorcery usages. "

How to Get / Where to Find the Tin Crystallization Catalyst

  • Drop: Big Hat Logan (mad). After purchasing all the spells from Logan at The Duke's Archives and defeating Seath the Scaleless, talk to him once more then leave the area or quit/ load game. Return to the room where you fought Seath the Scaleless the first time and you will find him there, defeat him to get his drop. (Note: be sure to purchase all his spells for him to go mad, even the ones you already have.)

Notes

  • Give to Frampt to receive 1 souls.
  • Recommend Int levels: 32+
  • While you wield this catalyst in either hand, your maximum number of castings available for all spells will be halved (for pyro spells and miracles also).
  • Despite the catalyst being made of crystal, it can be repaired like normal at any blacksmith or a Bonfire if you have a Repairbox.
  • For further info on Magic Adjusts values at every Int level, see: https://darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com/Magic+Adjustment

A fine addition, to my crystal collection. (quick question, if I equip this staff and then swap for another staff, do i still lose half my spells? I'd like to keep repair on since i'll be using crystalline armor but im not sure)

The ultimate NG+ and beyond boss guide:
        1. Equip this + havel's chest, hands, legs + high stability shield + dusk crown + bellowing dragon and havel/fap rings
        2. Cast power within
        3. Enter fog gate
        4. Spam dark bead / crystal soul arrows / soul arrows
        5. EZ win.

I like how if you remove the crystallization, it's basically an elongated Insanity Catalyst from Demon's Souls.

I would only use this if it did double the damage of logan's catalyst. Though, the time of casting one spell is different than casting two. So, it might be worth.

My favourite catalyst. I used on my new game+1 run where i could only use sorcery and staves to attack. The high physical damage helps a lot and leaves me with more Spells for the bosses.

sorry about my bad english,im from Germany

Having you’re sorceries halved is gnarly but it doubles as a weapon that’s sufficient at killing basic mobs throughout the game while leaving the magic itself for larger more intimidating foes. PvP is of course a different story but not many invasions last long enough to run out of spells .....

Why does this half all spells including those that are not sorceries, seems kinda stupid, although this in combination with power within would be really broken.

Uhm, i killed him after i freed him when he moved to his new location, and i still got this. So no, you dont have to buy all of his stuff to get this, same goes for Big Hat.

Who needs swords when you have the Dark Bead crystal catalyst meta? Easy wins, no challenge... could use anything else but that would require effort and skill... but hey, don't care, I may be bored of winning this way, but I need to win THAT badly XD Sorry for the massively clear amount of sarcasm... I hate this thing with a fervent passion.

Amazing what the effects crystals have on people in different universes. In the dark souls universe, crystal sorceries turns you into a mad nudist who breaths crystal dragon breath all over the place! In our universe, crystal meth turns you into a tweaking zombie and possibly a screaming nudist also. :P

Should be noted that you can hold this catalyst in your off hand while another as your main staff. It will halve your spells when holding it but once you switch it returns to the regular amount of casts. Meaning if you need a boost bring it up and then put it back. Also note that it will cost 2 spell uses for each casts using the Tin crystallization staff.

i use this catalyst every time i get it when im doing a mage play-through, i didn't know this was one of the most powerful weapons in the game though :3
