If you haven't picked the knight class, it's definitely worth going on a shopping spree with him: Heater shield and chainmail armor may look silly but it's better than wearing some worn stuff from the nearby hollows.

Actually it's not a ill-advised to kill him, especially for Dex build. Even if you're not a Dex build, you can just kill him for free stuff.

I definitely believe Yulia is the pot itself because he’s petting the edges of it if you look closely rather than inside it. It would actually be quite fitting if this is true because the undead are a rather loony bunch and Andre’s line “as you’ve noticed, this land is flush with the mad and wicked” could easily be referencing the NPCS as mad and the enemies as wicked.

something weird i just found, when i first see him, he has the burning red eyes that hollows do, but after i spend enough souls (~1600 souls, i bought the residence key and a scimitar) he gives a seemingly sincere thanks and loses the red eyes and instead he just has black eyes like the player (or no eyes for that matter.)

Maybe giving him just enough souls pushes him further from hollowing.

I noticed something: unlike his female colleague, the undead merchant doesn't have bright red eyes, just like the player. However, almost all of the hostile hollows in the game have glowing eyes. Even so, the female merchant still has her humanity and is not hostile towards the player. I already know the difference between Undead and Hollow, but I would like to know if there is any meaning or if it was simply overlooked.

Tbh the only reasons to kill him are for his sword (scrub lord Katana) and to get the Residence Key without having to spend the money. Tbh I recommend buying the Bottomless Box and then kill him if you are going for a Dex build. Most of what he sells is fairly useless in a normal run, and even then a lot of it is commonly dropped or easily obtained. Besides, put the crazy man out of his misery. He refers to a whole lotta nothing as "Little Yulia".

If you don't want the sin of killing him but want his Uchigatana, you can lure the axe-wielding ambushing undead to the merchant and hide behind the merchant as the undead swings. The merchant won't fight back, and visiting Oswald confirms that you do not get the sin for this.

I don't care what *****ing items he drops, he doesn't deserve to killed! Be advised, I now feel awful and ashamed for killing him. Don't be sinners, don't kill innocent undead who sell resources! (I'm almost crying...)
