Xanthous Set is an Armor Set in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.
Xanthous Set Information
Crown/Overcoat/Gloves/Waistcloth- A mysterious item once worn by the Xanthous King Jeremiah, the legendary exile. No one knows where it came from.
The crown bears high-quality cloth which is quite soft to the touch, but its bright yellow color stings the eyes, and it is clearly far too big.
Overcoat/Gloves/Waistcloth- It may be tattered, but its bright yellow color still stings the eyes.
Location
- Found in Painted World of Ariamis.
- Players must have been invaded by Black Phantom King Jeremiah as well as defeated him. After meeting Crossbreed Priscilla, head towards the exit (the walkway leading out to no where it seems) and before you get close to the end of the walkway, look to the left, the armor is on a corpse in a little alcove.
Notes
- Xanthous Set can be upgraded by using Twinkling Titanite.
Bug
- If you meet all conditions as stated above and still dont see the corpse with the armor on it; quit the game and come back. This has been proven to fix the vanishing armor set.
Xanthous Set Table
First row = Regular. Second row = +5 Upgraded

Sad how much they shrunk the crown in the later games, I miss my gargantuan 8ft tall funny peanut hat that was bigger than my entire body that obscured parts of my vision with how ridiculously huge it was.

This set lets you get easy wins on people when they first see it because they are too busy having a "WTF!?" moment.

I wish you could headbutt people with the crown like you do with the work parasite

If you can put up with that this set is kind of heavy for no Poise, has practically no Fire Resistance and is gaudy as sin it has a nice niche that The Magic and Strike Resistances are really high.
Good luck finding another set to match with it tho...

This set is just a ripoff of the 2015 film minions. I can't believe fromsoft would do this.

I wish I could gift this armour to Solaire. He was very enthusiastic about being ''grossly incandescent'', I'm sure he would appreciate it

Xanthous chest + crystalline helmet + chester leggings + black leather gloves is top tier fashion

I read some interesting stuff about this armor. If you take the head piece and match it up with the parasitic wall hugger's head in blightown, it's a 100% match. Also the cut file name for the parasitic wall hugger is PrinceIzalis. The Bed of Chaos' cut name is KingIzalis. This set also belonged to a King named Jeremiah who uses only chaos pyromancies. Jeremiah is also stuck in a world of thrown away people and things. You can come up with your own theory. Just some trivia for you.

Anyone know if this is a reference to The King in Yellow and/or The Hanged King's Tragedy?

I’m wondering on my Pyromancer build to either get this armor set, or keep my Gold-Hemmed and Sealer set combo. Or, do I just go with a different armor set in general? I’m trying to get decent weight so I don’t fatroll, but I don’t want to have armor that doesn’t help at all. Any suggestions?

Surprisingly decent armour for it's weight, fire resistance being the only weakness. The helm, though... You either love it or hate it. Unsurprisingly it's pretty heavy.
