Miracles

Miracles are also affected by an online feature called "Resonance". If a player uses a miracle in their world (for example, "Wrath of the Gods"), other players connected to the same network will see a resonance marker in the area where you cast that miracle. If they then use the same miracle in that area then the power of their miracle will be increased. You'll know what spell to cast to enable the resonance by scrolling through your attuned spells and look for a spell that has a ring around it, similar to the resonance marker that appears in the world.

For an unknown reason, the following miracle is not obtainable in the final game without cheating in some way. As such it is not required for the all miracles achievement, but is still listed here for the sake of being thorough.

escapedeath
Escape Death
1 1 0 Escape Death is a self-buff that prevents the user from losing souls and humanity after death. The miracle will not work if the user has two other self-buffs active (i.e. having both the Green Blossom stamina regen effect and the Transient Curse's effect will prevent the use of this miracle). Upon death, the message "Magic Revived" appears in green lettering identical to the "Ring Revival" message produced when a player dies with a Ring of Sacrifice equipped. Unobtainable by normal means; the miracle lacks an icon when viewed on the Attune Magic page or in the player's spell slots, so the game developers likely did not finish it. Support

Why do bountiful sunlight and smoothing sunlight exist if they're worse than replenishment ando great heal respectively, need a much higher fth lv and you must be part of a covenant?

      • Anonymous

I only just noticed that the background of the picture for each miracle shows Gwyn and Gwyndolin in front of some silver Knights. Heal and lighting spear show it most clearly

        • Anonymous

11 offensive miracles, 7 if we exclude those that make damage, 8 if we exclude those that are infusion of buffs (karmic justice and blade miracles) becuase those could be cnsidered support . There's 23 miracles in total, so that means that there are 15 support miracles. Meaning that indeed offense was the exception in faith builds. I like the idea

I wish there was a miracle equivalent to the oolacile spell that casts light. So many "light" miracles, but not a single one that makes your surroundings brighter.

            • I started doing Miracles Only, and I want to say this challenge is HARD AF. Gravelord Sword dance isn't good if you want to snipe or hit an enemy directly, and Lightning Spears only have 10 casts, give or take Dusk Crown Ring, which will give you 15. FIFTEEN LIGHTNING SPEARS?! And even then, you have to kill Ceaseless to actually be able to get more miracles *Great Lightning Spear* and you will have to kill Capra to start Reah's questline, which makes me pissed off, especially needing the Greatsword Dance and WOTG. So, in order to EFFECTIVELY KILL ALL BOSSES, you would need:
              18 Atunement?
              30-50 Faith
              Attack miracles:
              Lightning Spear (Early-Mid game)
Sword Dance (Can get Greatsword from farming Eyes of Death in Depths)
              Emit Force (Siegmeyer's Quest)
              WOTG (Reah's Quest)

I was thinking of making a faith build with a balder side sword, claymore, sanctus and dark moon talisman as my weapons and the elite knight armor but with the crown of dusk and my miracles being sunlight blade and great lightning spear

Has anyone ever had success deflecting magic spells using Emit Force? I tried timing it against the forest sorcerer in Darkroot and it never worked like with Force.

I decided to play something like paladin build, str/faith, knowing nothing about the game. And after nearly finished the game I came here to discover that only reasonable miracles to deal damage are obtainable by joining to the specific covenant... f** that... Yes, now, after getting that lightning spears my character is what he was supposed to be from the beginning and I enjoyed playing much more, but man, why someone thought it is good idea to hide that miracles in way that most players don't ever find them, and there are no replacement for them. And at the same time there are plenty of sorceries and pyromancies that dealt damage very easy obtainable...

                      • Anonymous

Each cast consumes 13 uses instead of the 20 stated. This provides 3 full casts, and a 4th cast will use only the single sword.

                        • Anonymous

It was always surprising to me that there are so few miracles that deal damage. The only really practical ones are the spears and WOTG.

                          • Anonymous

It's quite unbalanced, u can have one lightning spear, great lighting spear and sunlight spear, magic can have more per playtrought, but lightning spear can't That's sad

                            • Anonymous

really wish miracles had more charges. You can have 60 spells available by the time you get to the depths, and even end game you can have 30+ available uses between great heavy soul arrow, crystal dragon breath, and various other stackable spells. Than you have Wrath of the gods with......3 uses? "Shut up you have the most OP buffs in the game". Sure, they are good, but they only last 60 seconds. And you only get 1 uses out of it. Crystal magic weapon by comparison has 3 uses. 3!!! For one Slot. How is a 60 second buff considered good when casters have 3 times the amount of an arguable just as good buff. "Pyromancers and Sorcerers don't have support Spells it balances out". Pyromancers do not have to put levels into making them good. Faith casters do. Which means that pyromancers can dedicate a main build and still have lots of fireballs to cast, as well as having power within as a buff. Sure, miracle casters have support spells. But these are not as good as people think. Great magic barrier only works against spells, and it isn't useful in PvE (yes some of us actually enjoy the game offline sometimes). It also doesn't work against elements. Heal miracles are basically useless when you can have 20 flasks available. "Gravelord sword dance has 40 uses out of it and each lighting spear has 10 stop complaining about the lack of availability!". Keep in mind, the sword dance uses 20 uses each cast time, similar to great chaos fire storm. so really it only has 2 uses available. And sure, the lightning spears do have 10 uses, but my problem with those is that first, you need to be in a covenant to get them. If you play offline (again, sue me for even thinking some people play offline) than you are out of luck. And though the lightning spears do work, the casting time is so slow, you may as well just beat the tar out of it with a sword instead. Overall, miracles are really disappointing in almost all of the franchise. If they doubled the amount of miracle casts so they were similar to the amount you get out of sorcery, and make the casting times if the spears faster, along with making the buff miracles either last longer or have more casts, you could make the argument that they are viable. In PvP, where fights last only a few minutes, the lack of miracle slots and short buff times do not hurt as much. But if you are just enjoying the classic game and trying to make it between bonfires (which in this game are a long ways apart), the lack of miracles for a MIRACLE CENTERED BUILD can make it kind of a slog fest, where you run out after 2 minutes and realize you just have to play as a weak warrior without any slots left till you make it to the next bonfire.

Is it possible to add Crown of Dusk and Ring of the Sun's Firstborn to this page? Maybe there are other effects that boost the power of offensive miracles, and I don't know about them...

so if I go to a page about a specific miracle it says: "To cast a miracle, you must use a Talismans or Special Weapons that can cast Miracles." so what weapons can cast miracles?

do divine/occult weapons have the ability to use miracles? this is important for my own run where i use faith/strength

Are there any miracles beside escape death that I don't have to get to get the achievement for all miracles?

Is vow of silence affected by intelligence in this game (I never played original dark souls, I only watched) and do you need 12 faith at least to be able to buy miracles or not?

Kinda a bummer that miracle builds got nothing from AotA. Pyros got Black Flame, sorcerers got Dark Bead (and Pursuers if that's your thing) but nothing in the way of miracles. Too bad

Vow of silence worth using on a PvP Dex/Faith hybrid? I have 3 spell slots, one for DMB and the other for this. I just wanna know if it's a waste of slots or not.

                                            • Anonymous

Miracles may be the most well rounded set of spells in this game. Single target damage with the spear series of spells, Wrath of Gods and the Gravelord Sword dance for area of effect damage, and a slurry of self buffs and healing spells to pump yourself up. I play a 50 vitality, 16 attunement, 30 endurance, 45 dexterity, 40 faith build and love this much more than my sorcerer build. In fact, due to the fact sorcerers only get single target damage and odd selection of effect spells, they may have got least appealing book of spells. Pyromancies are a fun second ranged dealer as they also have single target, area of effect, and a limited self buff selection, but lack healing.
