Red Tearstone Ring

The rare gem called tearstone has the uncanny ability to sense imminent death.
This red tearstone from Carim boosts the attack of its wearer when in danger.

Red Tearstone Ring is a Ring in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Players can equip up to 2 Rings, but equipping two of the same item is not possible.

Application

  • A reincarnation of the Rat ring set, but the damage bonus this time is more potent (used to be 30% on the rat ring). This ring is recommended for anyone who wants to capitalize on a risk-reward method of play.
  • This damage bonus applies to all forms of damage your character deals, and stacks with all damage bonus modifications.

I was super apprehensive about this ring until I fought an enemy that could one shot me and decided **** it, I'm gonna die anyway, let's give it a go. Was not disappointed. This bad boy is high risk, high reward and fun as hell

This ring is like cocaine. At first I was apprehensive about using it; I didn't want to be on such low HP at any point in this game. But now that I've started using it, I just can't stop. It's so, so powerful. If you're confident in your abilities playing this game, I highly recommend trying out the Red Tearstone Ring.

I noticed that I dealt 2x the damage with rtsr with the blacksmith’s giant hammer on SL1 instead of 1.5x

strange thing i noticed, i havnt checked with weapons, but with your hand a backstab with RTSR goes from 5 to 12, and parry goes from 8 to 21. i have no clue why this is but i thought id mention it.

Okay so like... how does your character wear this ring? Like, how does it physically go around your finger? This has been bugging me ever since I first found this thing.

Hey quick note, the Clever Rat's Ring actually outputs the same damage boost as RTSR, and even gives the boost at a higher health threshold (30% compared to RTSR's 20%).

I don't know how to edit pages on this wiki, so I'm hoping that someone else edits that detail in the reference to the Clever Rat's Ring.

I prefer wearing this in combination with the Ring of the Sun's Firstborn and the Crown of Dusk with light armor when invading in areas of high-PvP activity. Gives you a brief moment to cast WotG on spawn campers and wipe them all out in one or two casts. Might also lead to your immediate death, but it at least provides a 50/50 chance that you'll at least kill the target.

To see this ring get put to outstanding use in a playthrough, check out a Dark Souls Speedrun video on youtube by Treynquil. The video I watched is 28:56 seconds total. Guy is such a boss, and his use of this ring is nothing less than methodical incredible
