Havel the Rock, an old battlefield compatriot of Lord Gwyn, was the sworn enemy of Seath the Scaleless. He despised magic, and made certain to devise means of counteraction.
Usage
- Support: Reduces incoming magic damage for a short time.
- Duration: 40 seconds.

- Ash Lake: in the tree with the Basilisks, accessed from a hollow branch on the outside.

Notes
- Stronger version of Magic Barrier.
- Good for the Four Kings battle.
- Extremely effective against Seath the Scaleless' breath attacks.
- Also extremely effective against Dark Sun Gwyndolin's magic strikes, small and large alike.
- Great Magic Barrier is a Self Buff and interferes with other such buffs (i.e. Transient Curse, Green Blossom, Power Within, etc.). As long as it's active it's not possible to cast other Self Buffs and vice versa.

I was constantly dying to low level Dark Bead invaders so I got this spell and the highest magic defense possible; +5 Big Hat, +10 Dingy Robe, +10 Traveling Gloves, +10 Blood-Stained Skirt, and the Spell Stoneplate Ring. At level 21 and 67 humanity with Great Magic Barrier I'm getting 818 magic defense, enough to never die to magic ever again. Don't forget to use Wrath of the Gods and the Ring of the Sun's Firstborn for 1-shot kills.

Great counter againts all magic spells including dark bead. My PvP experience, if only the added a ring that prevented backstab damage.

Hey does this have any affect on dark moon blade? I know dark moon is a miracle but I thought it did magic damage.
Havel out here making spells that make every mage scrub rage even harder now that their Dark Beads isn't a 2 shot kill
