Large Divine Ember is an Ember in Dark Souls.

Large Divine Ember Location

  • Obtained from a dead blacksmith who is among several giant skeletons in Tomb of Giants.
  • From the first Bonfire (near Patches) climb up the ladder and go right, then follow the narrow path until you get to a big tomb. Enter by climbing down the ladder in a small opening.
  • Video Location Timestamp 5:07

Large Divine Ember Usage

  • Give to Blacksmith Andre, it will allow him to ascend a +5 Divine weapon to +10.

Large Divine Ember Notes

  • When entering the area containing the Large Divine Ember, be prepared due to the 4 giant skeletons guarding the body and item. Be extra vigilant in this dangerous area.
  • One way to get the ember without killing any skeletons is by jumping across the gap where the ladder is located. This will allow circling the top of the pit containing the giant skeletons. Once above the ember, equip a Ring of Sacrifice drop down quickly grabbing the ember and then either dying or attempting to escape. You can also equip the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring to move around the skeletons before they begin to attack you.
  • Lightly equipped characters with pyromancy spells or firebombs, it is possible after entering the giant coffin with the giant skeletons to run and jump over the gap described above, and running all the way to the end of the right side. This will aggro all of the skeletons into a group below you, and they will only very rarely be able to hit you. If you lock on and cast some pyromancy spells you can hit them all with the splash damage. The corners at the end of the room work best when attempting this maneuver. If necessary move back and forth along the ledge to re-aggro and get them into another group. You must be close to the edge while casting, being careful not to fall to a quick and certain death at the hands of the giant skeletons.
  • Before descending the first ladder leading into the tomb, equip the Ring of Fog and the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring and unequip any lit items. Descend the ladders down to the floor of the tomb and lure the large skeletons one by one either by proximity or arrows.
  • If using a bow to shoot down upon the giant skeletons, they tend to bunch up directly underneath the ledge, where they are incapable of being hit. To lure them back out into the open, use the Aural Decoy spell.

Just died with 13 humanities while on the ****ing tomb that you find this piece of ****.

Good thing i bought 400 iron arrows from Vamos, only problem is that they deal 24 damage on them per hit with a longbow +5 lol

i don't see why people complain about the location of this item. i always tend to kill pinwheel very early on using the skip that bypasses basically all of the catacombs, and after that its a choice between boning out and spending the souls he dropped or making a suicide run for this ember. just don't sit at the tomb of the giants bonfire before you have the lordvessel because backtracking out of there sucks!

Good game design is when you cram a billion giant enemies in a small, dark area. The more giant enemies you cram in that sum*****, the more better the game design is.

This one wasn't so hard for me, the skeletons are clumsy, killed them all after accidentally falling into the pit with them. And I'm not a good player, died once to Pinwheel. (faith build, divine mace) :)

God, there's no way you can defend how many skeletons are there. You can make excuses for the rest of the area since they all don't rush you unless you agro them, but ****ing christ, theres 5 in such a tiny area

They were loop-di-loo stuck in the ****in’ loo when they decided to pile on 6 ****ING GIANT SKELETONS IN ONE SMALL-ASS SPACE! How was I supposed to know that, by accidentally falling down the hole, there would be a ****-ton of skeletons!? I’ve never even explored the Tomb of the Giants fully either because, even with a Skull Lantern or Sunlight Maggot, it’s still ****in’ dark! Yet another reason why the Tomb of the Giants is the worst mandatory area ever!

If you clump all the giant skeletons at the base of the ladder, you can just spam the 2H heavy with Dragon King Greataxe and kill them all from the top in just a few hits.

If you're going with a faith build anyways I recommend to wait for the squeletons to get close to the entrance, get your Sun Firstborn and/or Sun Princess + Dusk Crown, and blast them all off with WOTG

Magic works from the top of the ladder, but a lot of soul arrows/soul mass fizzles out on the way downwards, so sorcerers should arrive with a full spell book.

Alternatively, you can use a bow to clump them up under the ladder via aggro and-if your build permits it-plunge attack them with a Bass Cannon, BKGA, or other similarly strong weapons to obliterate them in one hit.
