A question I'm playing the second Darksouls for the first time. How do I select something to put on the D pad? I have the left and right one as shield and melee but it was like that after I completed the selection process. I'm somewhat past the start but I'm out of life gems and had to buy some but since I've run out of them it no longer shows on the D pad. So how do I put something there?

How can I freely bind any game function to any key? Kinda like any special gesture to any key, or item, or skill etc
But I know the answer - it's impossible, because this is just another dumb port of console sh*t. No hotkeys, no good framerate (cuz 60 FPS in 2020 = gabrage) and so on.

As much as I hate only rolling in 4 directions relative to the player, at least I don't need a controller to not be at a disadvantage

For everyone who can't open the menu(SaO abridged anyone?) on PC, there is button under your home button next to your del and page down button above the arrow keys. That button says "end" and just like the instructions above say, you press that button to open the menu.

To aim a bow in the right hand (RH2 for me on 360), select the bow press RB to ready it then press LB. Reverse for left hand. The game never tells you this can be done.

I have encountered a bug(?) where some of my controls have been switched (sticks with directional buttons out-of-menu, sticks with bumpers in-menu). The controls in key bindings still read as they used to and playing with them/resetting to default will not fix the problem. It is not an issue with the controller, as it is working just fine with other games. Does anyone have any fixes? I have gotten no useful help anywhere else.

What is the L3 Button for (R3 = Target lock/release)? If L3 is not used at all, I will put a "macro" on it (pc version)...
