Each upgrade level will increase the base damage of Regular Weapons, damage scaling ( Strength and/or  Dexterity), and stability of regular shields. This is suitable for a long term use as it allows weapon to be repaired and thus the weapon will not break unlike crystal weapons. |
Regular Upgrades are a type of Upgrade in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. They enable players to "Ascend" weapons and shields in a specific path.
Regular Upgrade path and Requirements:
Regular Upgrades for weapon and shield are performed by Andre of Astora at the Undead Parish.
Note that each upgrade level requires a number of soul that varies depending on the weapon.
- Regular upgrade from 0 to +5 requires 9 Titanite Shards.
- Regular upgrade from +5 to +6 requires a Large Ember and Large Titanite Shard to ascend.
- Regular upgrade from +5 to +10 requires 9 Large Titanite Shards.
- Regular upgrade from +10 to +11 requires a Very Large Ember and Titanite Chunk to ascend.
- Regular upgrade from +10 to +14 requires 7 Titanite Chunks.
- Regular upgrade from +14 to +15 requires a Titanite Slab.
From 0 to +5
- Regular upgrade from 0 to +1 requires 1 Titanite Shard.
- Regular upgrade from +1 to +2 requires 1 Titanite Shard.
- Regular upgrade from +2 to +3 requires 2 Titanite Shard.
- Regular upgrade from +3 to +4 requires 2 Titanite Shard.
- Regular upgrade from +4 to +5 requires 3 Titanite Shard.
From +5 to +10
- Regular upgrade from +5 to +6 requires 1 Large Titanite Shard and a Large Ember.
- Regular upgrade from +6 to +7 requires 1 Large Titanite Shard.
- Regular upgrade from +7 to +8 requires 2 Large Titanite Shard.
- Regular upgrade from +8 to +9 requires 2 Large Titanite Shard.
- Regular upgrade from +9 to +10 requires 3 Large Titanite Shard.
From +10 to +14
- Regular upgrade from +10 to +11 requires 1 Titanite Chunk and a Very Large Ember.
- Regular upgrade from +11 to +12 requires 1 Titanite Chunk.
- Regular upgrade from +12 to +13 requires 2 Titanite Chunk.
- Regular upgrade from +13 to +14 requires 3 Titanite Chunk.
From +14 to +15
- Regular upgrade from +14 to +15 requires 1 Titanite Slab.
AnonymousThe regular modify equipment doesn't appear there for me, only the divine appears, is this is a PC only glitch? as I'm playing on PC, I'm very confused as I want to +6 my weapon not make it divine and have to grind green titanite again (I pre-grinded the Large titanite for +5-+10) but now i just cant for some reason, does anyone have an answer to this?

Is there a similar page for necessary titanite requirements per level of upgrading armor? On both the upgrades and armor pages, there is a table for how armor scales by level and there is a link that brings you to this page, but obviously this page is only applicable to weapons.

I was trying to upgrade my great club from a +6 to a +7 but it wont let me. I have 800 souls and three large titanite shards but it doesnt give me the option to upgrade it.
To any one who needs to know after you upgrade to level 6 you can upgrade at a bonfire if you have the smith box
