Blacksmith Andre is a Character in Dark Souls.
Information
Andre of Astora is a Character in Dark Souls. He is located in the basement of the old church, a disused building that connects the Undead Parish with the Darkroot Garden. He will repair and upgrade your weapons and armor for a fee of souls and materials. He can also ascend certain weaponry if given the proper ember. He also sells Titanite Shards, Smithing Boxes for weapons and armor, a Repairbox for use at bonfires, and assorted weaponry. The Crest of Artorias can be purchased here for 20,000 souls.

If you are buying something with him and just head out he will ask where you're going thinking that you've gone hollow

My question is: How come Andre doesn’t disappear when he dies, unlike other NPCs who DO die? He just flat-out falls on the ground & moves like a rag doll.

It's my first playthrough of dark souls and I decided to attempt getting every item and I don't want to kill Andre is there any way to get the hammer otherwise

I went back form Anor Londo (Pre Ornstien and Smough) to upgrade something to plus 10 and litteraly out of nowhere I pissed off Andre for no reason he just started attacking me for no reason

Shana_Cayde: i regret killing him too, but he wouldn't accept a bonfire respawn as a form of "i made a mistake please forgive me sempai". I'm only glad that i bought all his key items before accidentally (purposefully because he wouldn't calm down) killing him. I'm just hoping there is some miraculous way of bringing him back without NG.

Not completely sure but, he has unique dialogue if you afk while in his menu. He says something about if you went hollow.

There seems to be a glitch where he randomly disappears from the Undead Parish. This might be a purposeful game mechanic, but he came back after I reloaded the game so I doubt it (and I had also never seen it happen in my previous 230 hours of playing). I'm playing on the Switch version, if that helps understand the problem.

Dear God! I accidentally killed him early on and now I can’t kill the boss in Anor Londo because I can only get a 5+ zwiehander! Is there any other way to get a 10+ weapon to give it a lightning enchantment?

This is old news, but I'm surprised it's still not listed here. In early drafts for Dark Souls, Andre was scripted to be Gwyn's firstborn, until they came up with the story of betrayal and instead relegated him to the role of a mere blacksmith of Astora. Perhaps that explains his... unique character model, which happens to bear some semblance to Gwyn.
