Level is a Stat in Dark Souls. This is the player's current level and will increase when leveling any Stat.

 

 

Level Information & Notes

  • Leveling up is done at Bonfires. (Level also known as Soul level)
  • When a player level up, they can choose to invest their accumulated souls into one of the following 8 stats:
  • The highest level possible, when all eight stats are at 99, depends on the starting class and lies around level 710. * Max level is 713 when starting as a Sorcerer, as they have the lowest resistance. Then 711 as Knight or Thief, 709 as Wanderer or Pyromancer, or 710 for any other starting class.
  • The amount of souls needed to level up can be modeled by the equation: y = 0.02x^3 + 3.06x^2 + 105.6x - 895 with x being the level and y being the amount of souls. This is accurate level 12 and up

 

 

Required Souls

The amount of souls needed to level up, and increase one stat, will increase with every level.
The cost for each level is shown below. The amount shown is the cost to get to that level.

      I hate having to stick to one build. No respec and these stupid levels have near the same costs as elden ring. The difference is that it's much easier to get runes in elden ring.

        I wish that I could start with the god damn lava ring and Artorias ring on NG plus. Like you use to. I miss that.

          what is the max count of souls you can get in dark souls. Wjat is the total amount of souls needed to the max highest lever any character with all stats at 99.

            I did the math and it would require to finish 340 ng’s with all bosses to reach the max sl without duping souls. This does not include losing something like 3 million souls that are not enough to level up and require ~3/5 ng to acquire

              dunno if it matters at all, but at SL361 it turns out that the real soul cost vs the calculated soul requirement differ ever so slightly. the calculated value is 1376926.48, which rounds down to the wrong value. it seems that the internal calculator might round to one decimal and THEN to a whole number, but that might already be known. if so, sorry, i just found it interesting

                From 30+ the required souls quickly become very high.
                Is it even normally possible to become the 'meta' 120-125 level in one run?

                I'm currently around lvl40 and bosses barely drop enough souls for 2 levels.. wtf.

                  i hate the game now because i literally have to grind my soul for my theories of completing the bloody game and everything else get the rings get the spell get the bloody sword shield and armor drops i hate this this is you this is your fault because i'm literally gonna waste hours into the game and cannot basically wasted thousand hours to basically complete every single bloody thing into this game is not even though a fan challenges i will waste sun like it naked man soul level 1 yeah thank you for making life check my self

                    New player here. Does soul level transfer over to NG+ or do you just keep your stats and are re-labeled as SL1?

                      In my game level 36 costs the same as level 52 from the chart; did I accidentally ***** myself with NG+ because this is my first time playing
