- Ascend a +10 shield with the Soul of Sif.
Notes:
- Has the highest stability of any non-crystal shield in the game
- Special: Attacks blocked with the Greatshield of Artorias do not cause any status effect at all (the bar will not even appear), the attack must be blocked however. Area of effect attacks will not be blocked, such as ambient effects like the poison swamp of Blighttown, or the curse mist from basilisk. As such this shield will not block the curse effect from Seath's crystal attack.
- In online play, the shield will not block 100% bleed / poison / toxic. This may be because it doesn't appear to be the actual Great Shield of Artorias ( design is different )
- Upgraded with demon titanite and 5000 souls.
- However, doing so does not increase stability, so it's advisable to leave it unupgraded.

What? Will it change upon entering PvP? Or is it just different from the cleansing greatshield? If so, thats not elegantly written. But maybe its just me, im not a native english speaker, after all.

tried this on seath; it seems to actually block all curse effects as well ... guess i know what i'm using in endgame XD

In my opinion, this is the best greatshield in the game. People say Havels but it's ridiculous strength requirement and the fact it doesn't block status effects 100% is not worth some extra defence in magic, fire, and lightning. Sure, it's a LOT of defence but still, you get higher stability, resistance, still high or moderate defence in all catagories for FAR less strength and less weight. Unless you're talking about using it as a weapon, in which case I don't know the numbers, this shield is just far more versatile and easy to use. IF you can use it naturally then you probably don't care about weight anyway so go ahead and use it but it's not worth even ten non scaling points of strength if you're already at 40, just get this shield. (And it's cooler looking too)

Hands down, best PvE shield in the game. This thing no-sells Havel's 2 hand attacks with only minimal stamina loss.

Funny this is better than the Cleansing Shield, But the Abyss Greatsword is better than the Greatsword of Artorias imo. Neat.
