Hammer of Vamos is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.

 

 

Metal hammer of Vamos, a skeleton blacksmith deep within the Catacombs who rarely speaks.
Can be used as a strike weapon, but better left in the hands of its talented owner.

 

 

 

How to Get / Where to Find the Hammer of Vamos

 

Hints and Tips

  • Give to Frampt to receive 100 souls.
  • It is not recommended to kill Vamos, as he is the only blacksmith that can modify your weapons to Fire and Chaos infusions, the latter being amazing on weapons like the Zweihander (nicknamed "The Bass Cannon"). In addition this weapon is pretty weak. Only get this when you’re just about to go into NG+ and don't require his services.

          During my first playthrough accidentally got to Vamos while seeking the goddamn bell (still being a filthy casul ofc., with a +2 longsword and crappy armor). Somehow got him killed by the wheel skeletons I couldn't deal with. And you know what, this hammer carried out a nice vengeance on the rolling bastards. Not a bad weapon if you are really desperate.

            The best part is you get to murder him for a decent weapon, prf after he makes you what you need so he has no use to you anymore. Then you get to kill him with his own hammer every NG+ just to say you use it better than he does. You'll really give him time to his focus and thats what he wants too.

              The easiest Fire weapon you can get but probably the last one you'll ever want.

              Getting to the bottom of The Catacombs isn't all that hard, the tricky part is getting out anyways, but that Low AR with split damage is painful even then. When you can just make a Fire Great Scythe instead which is also strong early game and can soon make Chaos if you know what you're doing why bother killing your Blacksmith for this? Now if you really want an early game fire hammer grab the Mace nearby and make a Fire Mace. It will soon heavily outdamage this hammer anyways and Vamos will still be alive.

              That is unless you also want that dope viking hat, then go ahead!

                Sadly for the hammer of vamos, it was completely outclassed by probably any other hammer in DSR. The morning star at least deals bleed damage to comes to the cost to damage. But in the hammer of vamos case, it was worst. An average hammer should at least have 4.0 units of weight. Unfortunately, the hammer of vamos has 5.0 units of weight making it one of the heavier hammers. To make things worst, it also face a other familiar competition to the chaos reinforce club. The chaos reinforce club is lighter, deal more damage, has higher scaling and it's more easier to get. The only time that you can use the hammer of vamos is when you create some sort of cosplay. But other than that, it's the worst hammer in the game.
