Black Iron Set is an Armor Set in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.
Black Iron Set Information
Armor set of Black Iron Tarkus, a knight known for his great strength.
Built of a special black iron and providing strong defense, notably against fire, but so terribly heavy to be unwieldy to all but Tarkus himself.
Location
- Found in Anor Londo, on the Iron Knight Tarkus corpse to the left of World of Ariamis painting.

Notes
- Black Iron Set can be upgraded by using Twinkling Titanite.
- One of the highest physical defense armor sets in the game. Only slightly worse than Giant's in that regard, but weighs slightly less and has (higher) Curse resistance.
- This set has the highest Fire resistance of any armor set in the game (at +5 and as a full set).
- Each armor piece of this set reduces Stamina recovery by 1 per second (chest by 2) for a total of 5 for the full set.
- It is believed that Iron Knight Tarkus was the hero who broke the window near Ariamis painting, allowing himself and others to progress deeper into Anor Londo.

iron tarkas set ds1 i used this armor set in my pyro mancer tarkas build!
tarkas armor max upgrad has highest fire def in game even over black knight set!
pyromancy flame flash sweat & iron body both increase armors already high def
add dragon king great sword you are basically unstoppable to anything but magic!
magic is this builds only weakness

One of my favorite armor sets in the game. Excellent stats overall, even though you likely have to sacrifice a ring slot to increase your equip load if you don't have the necessary endurance for it. The whole set weighs 40 units, if you're planning on another 10 weight for your weapons (enough for Zweihander or Claymore+Medium Shield) you need 60 END to get below the weight limit for medium rolls. This is obviously way too much to spend on a stat that doesn't increase your damage in any way, so using Havel's ring and/or FaP ring is pretty much mandatory if you want to equip this armor set.

My favourite of the super-heavy armour sets. Looks awesome and has excellent overall resistances.

50 Vit, 40 End, 10 Att, 50 str, until 125 into dex. Full Set + Greatsword + Black Iron Shield + Balder Side Sword as backup, cloranthy ring, fap Ring, pyromancy Flame+ Iron flesh.
Apply Nanomachines, tank through casuals and bonk their heads in. No need to roll like a virgin, 79 poise is all you need. Bss for better speed If necessary.

Ok, I did the soul dupe thing to figure this out, you would need around 80 or so End. to midroll without havel's ring on.

i really like using this armor with mask of the child as its one of the few armor sets where the mask doesnt look too bad.

i used this on my first ever character (black iron +5 GCS and dragontooth with a few sorceries and tin catalyst) and it will always hold a special place in my heart as my favorite heavy armor both aesthetically and defense wise

I had 36 END and wore this set to medium success with havel's ring and the ring of FaP. My only weapon was a plus 10 Zweihander and the dark hand as a shield. I took down the sanctuary guardian and ORNSTEIN and SMOUGH second time on my first playthrough

Real quick. With ring of FaP and Havels ring you need 36 end to midroll with this set, black iron greatshield and greatsword for all you tarkus fans out there.

This set except the Crimson robe for the chest plus Black Knight Shield and Greatsword of Artorias (cursed) makes for good Fashion Souls.

Did a pyro katana build with this armor (gold hemmed hood as helm) has to use ring of favor and Havel ring, but fashion souls.

1/24/19. For some reason the picture for Black Iron Leggings seems to be Shadow Leggings on this page. Anyways at +5 Black Iron Set offers 2nd highest Physical resist in game with 1st in Fire resist. Also offers some Curse resist.

I'm so glad that armour actually works well in DS1 and the remaster. where as DS3 armour will maybe take 20 percent dmg away.
a good way to show yourself that this is true is to put on Ingward's sets then get caught in man eater crabs chew on you move. Then where something like Havel's set and get chewed on to see the difference.

Great armor overall nice resistances and it takes twinkling titanite to max it. Only drawback for me is that i have to sacrifice a ring slot for havels ring.

It looks cool but it sucks,the paladin set have better defenses and weight 12 pts less,only losing on poise.
