Chain Set is an Armor Set in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.
Chain Set Information
Helm/Armor/Leggings- Chainmail apparel made of thin interlinking steel. It is common throughout the human world since it can be easily produced, is not too heavy, and offers good defenses.
Knights may favor flashy armor, but for warriors on the battlefield, anything is fine as long as it keeps them alive.
Gauntlets made of soft leather. One of the more common kinds of protective gear.
Location
- Purchased from Undead Merchant (Male) (2300 Souls total).
- Uncommon drop from Chained Prisoner (AotA only).
Notes
- Chain Set can be upgraded by using Titanite Shard (to +3), Large Titanite Shard (to +6), Titanite Chunk (to +9) and Titanite Slab (to +10).

imagine this with a robe all around it so you cant see that your wearing chainmail wouldnt that be awesome?

But choose wisely, for the true fit will bring you drip, the false set will take it from you.

does wearing noisy armor actually inhibit your stealth capabilities?

Not great but not terrible either. A cheap and safe purchase for all the deprived players who just got kicked of the asylum.

i use chainmail in every game that lets me. such an aesthetic, cheap, reliable and ancient armor mwwwoah

Set fashion wise is a 5/10 for me. Pretty basic but not terrible.

Full set for 2300 souls
I always buy it.early game good protection+some little poise

Chain set gives 21 poise, add the wolf ring for 61 poise and then havels ring. this i'll allow you to fast roll with good defence and poise on low level builds such as level 20. Works great for twink builds.

The armor and legs of this set are top picks for the sweatiest pvpers. You know who im talking about. The lagstab cheese guy, the parry king who spams undead hunter charms, mom mask with a chaos blade. Those types.

poise/weight ratio on this set is garbo and it looks like hot trash, couldnt make me wear it if you held dual power-stanced mundane Avelyns to my head

I personally like the way this armor looks on both male and female characters. Although I am not terribly fond of the helm.

Does anyone know the max Endurance you need so you don't fat roll?

Buy this set, replace the chain helmet with the warrior helm and then you’ve got some better fashion souls and slightly better physical protection.

this is actually a reallly good starting set to wear for the beginning bit. Enough poise for straight swords means you wont get *****ed by 10 hollows in a small room, and early game (unless you pick knight class) this is probably some of the best poise early on. decent protection too.

If i have killed the merchant, is there no way to obtain this set unless i go to NG+ or buying the DLC?

Anyone else noticed that the leggings make female characters look thicc af?
One of the most accessible medium armor sets, and a good one to start, but it is a pretty lame looking set.

Good set, but i would change the gauntlets to balder or elite knight, same weight + better protection.

Am I the only one that thinks that the coif looks very aesthetic?
