Using the fire upgrade, for example, doesn't remove the requirements? or just avoid scaling?

I used this on the one build I found it to be useful a few weeks ago, server main hand (usually 2 hand because it's just better) plus this plus ring of the evil eye (every few kills you regain 30 hp) plus regeneration miracle (is it called that or replenishment or something?) It was strangely op, every hit I take was healed within 5 or so hits of combat, meaning if I didn't get 1 shot or comboed I'd save all my estus for the boss, and even then it was useful, didn't have to heal the toxin from our favorite Ravelord because I outhealed it

Kinda-confusing question: I don't want to KILL Paladin Leeroy in my game. But can he invade my game as and defeat his phantom and he'll drop the shield?
- Anonymous
Is the shield a guaranteed drop? I Killed him with pyromancy and he didn’t fall off the cliff, but he didn’t drop any gear, just some souls and humanity.

Karmic Justice works well with this thing. The 95% damage reduction lets you get hit which triggers the spell and the regen makes up for the health loss. Basically free Wrath of the God castings for PvE situations where you know you gonna get stormed by lots of fast mobs where Wrath of the Gods would be harder to pull off.

Can I drop this shield for someone to get? Leeroy fell when I first tried to get the shield, so I will get it with other char of mine
I never use this shield, but I upgraded it and made it divine. Now it's called Divine Sanctus. It sounds cool.

Use Replenishment alongside this thing. 12 hp per second doesn't sound like a lot, but you'll change your tune when it fills you back up while you're stabbing fools in Darkroot Garden.

People who***** talk the Regen on Sanctus are imho, dumb... the shield would be overpowered if it could heal faster/more per upgrade. It has its uses and can even be combined with curse and RTS ring to negate and empower Power Within. Besides, in a game we’re you can blink and be gangbanged by 9 baby skeletons that bleed you out in seconds or fight a ghost that can snatch you up from a mile away, slit your throat and dump you in a bottomless death pit cause WHO swims in games... I’ll take any free healing I can get, saves me from having to use Estus outside of battle.

Good to have on your back. Would be even better if we could upgrade hp regen somehow.

Hey anyone willing to drop me one of these in ds1 remastered? Doing a paladin run and could really use the help. Psn: Jack_Daniels346

Does the divine upgrade path increase the healing effect in some way? Like bringing back the blessing of the white flame or something. Would be so cool
- Anonymous
Great if you are willing to wait to heal up without using Estus.

Why does the divine upgrade table have intelligence scaling?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
even thought it offers very little i still make it divine for the simple fact that "divine sanctus" is one of the best names of any item in the game

I didnt get any drop from Lee Roy after he fell off the cliff..... Try reloading game and exiting back to Firelink still can't get the loot to spawn....

The 95% physical block combined with the regen makes it a nice shield to combine with Karmic Justice. That miracle treats damage through a shield as a proper hit.
Trivia: if you are cursed, with 10 vit and wearing the dusk ring, this shield compleatly erases the hp loss from power within, useful for a ultra hyper-mode one shot build!
