dont bother with this... great club has half the weight and requirements and the damage is pretty much the same

Not even really an axe, it's more like a giant chewed up femur.

I just wish it looked "sharp" aesthetically. It's more of a hammer than an axe.

Decided to start playing this again. My first runs originally were mage cause I needed to git gud. Went strength this time and was insanely lucky. Got this from the taurus demon boss.

5% chance? Feels more like 0.5% chance because I've cleared the whole lava field and farmed the two near the boss for what seems like ages and still nothing. Come on I just wanna oneshot bosses I don't even want to use it in PVP.

Two-handed at 40 str and 40 faith, buffed with darkmoon blade (covenant level 1), gets an insane 1012 AR

mediocore weapon in terms of moveset and horrible when it comes to weight, much better weapons with better movesets and less weight. just an example +15 Zwei or Demon hammer as they have much better movesets and range with still good scaling and lighter. thanks for coming to my TED talk buh bye. leave comments below what you think of my OPINION not a fact just my opinion

How the fu(k does this deal more damage than Smough's Hammer?!?!
The hammer is much sturdier in material and construction, which is essential 4 weapons with much force and 2 counter plate armour.
Besides that due 2 its shape the axe would easily slip off the harder armor doing very little damage.
Also the hammer is way is way heavier and longer (leverage effect) and more top-heavy so it would have more impact force than the axe.
So why is this more powerful than the hammer???
People talking this weapon down. I just upgraded from a Zweihander to this. At 50 strength, this was dealing damage at +6 comparable to my +10 Zwei, it swings faster, and consumes like half the stamina. Seems to be the ultimate Strength weapon.

it isn't letting me get past +10 regular, why does the chart show +15 as a possibility?

Well damage tested it with a buddy whom vastly outleveled me. Can confirm, you can make a 1hk build out of this that is TERRIFYING. 1 parry/backstab and boom, they are reduced to atoms. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! The moveset itself is unusually fun as well. So you can use it for fun or to be competitive. Rather ridiculous weapon all things considered.

The range on this thing is beastly and it has a decently fun moveset. Paired with sunlight blade i can hit for about 1k damage unresisted. What made me switch from the greataxe is its larger range. Its so ugly thought. Doesnt work with my fashion souls.

they looked at this weapons and said "yeah this is ok" and coded it into the game

the onehanded second r2 attack has the most stagger in the game send people flying nothing is as fun as watching people being thrown 4 meters up youll almost feel like skyrim giants XD but its hard to land on pvp but its worth the fun afterward

I used this with sunlight blade, power within, 50 STR and faith, with miracle boosting gear.
I'm now in ng+4 in under a week and started from ng+2
Incredibly potent strength weapon. If you're looking for raw damage, look no further!

Does the Taurus demon boss have a chance to drop this? I would assume so

Big and Ugly, and yet... so cool if used correctly. (Heavens help you if you meet a skillful and somewhat lucky player using a crystal version of this backed with 66+ strength and power within!)

Decided to look into this as a replacement for the Greataxe, and instead got a great disappointment. This axe deals damage that is only a bit higher than the Greataxe, but is significantly heavier and consumes a huge amount of stamina. If you’re using the Greataxe and are thinking about switching to this, don’t. The greataxe is lighter, faster, and consumes less stamina, all while dealing nearly the same damage as the Demon Greataxe.

In my DSR playthrough, a Demon's Greataxe had not yet dropped after defeating all of the Taurus Demons in Undead Burg & Demon Ruins, but the one guarding the stairs & entrance in Demon Ruins respawned when resting or returning to the bonfire, and I collected the Greataxe upon defeating him again.

dat feel when this drops off the Taurus boss when you're playing a Dex character

Table here is claiming the Divine upgrade path scales with Int instead of Faith

Pretty sure this axe doesn't weigh 1.0
I think it's like 16.0 or 18.0
The weapon with the highest pure physical damage potential in the game is... A giant Femur that's been heavily chewed-on, seriously the main reason I don't use this weapon is mainly cause I hate how it looks, ugly-ahh weapon
