Drops | 1200 Souls (NG+ 2400) Demon's Greataxe |
Minor Taurus Demon is an Enemy in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Enemies are hostile creatures that respawn when players rest at a Bonfire or upon death. Special enemies that do not respawn are classified as Bosses, Mini Bosses or Invaders.
Drops
- Demon's Greataxe (5% Chance)
Attack
- Axe Brandish
- Jumping Axe Strike
- Axe Attack
Strategy
- Can easily be lured into attacking by getting within range then backing away. Their swings are long and leave them vulnerable, giving plenty of time for you to get in a couple hits. Don't put your back to lava as you can be knocked into it by blocking their attacks. Standing directly underneath their legs is the safest place to attack from.
- Wait for that attack and dodge. After that attack it waits a short time, then attack him with a strong and heavy weapon.
Ranged weapons or spells serviceable.

In my DSR playthrough, a Demon's Greataxe had not yet dropped after defeating all of the Taurus Demons in Undead Burg & Demon Ruins, but the one guarding the stairs & entrance in Demon Ruins respawned when resting or returning to the bonfire, and I collected the Greataxe upon defeating him again.

i tried to edit the page, but was denied. homeward bones and humanity are NOT guaranteed drops from these guys
The way a bunch of these guys are haphazardly and lazily strewn around a blank big open space just before the Demon Ruins reminds me of a hastily-made Warcraft 3 custom map when someone can't be bothered to do much other than plonk down a load of the same unit in the middle of the map... Overly specific, I know, but that's what it reminds me of
