Bandit's Knife is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.
"This wide single-edged shortsword is the favorite of lowly thieves and bandits."
"Primarily a slicing weapon, but highly effective when used for critical hits, such as after parrying or from behind."
How to Get / Where to Find the Bandit's Knife
- Default equipment for the Thief class.
- Drops from Undead Assassin (2% chance - Lower Undead Burg).
Hints and Tips:
- Can be given to Kingseeker Frampt to receive 50 Souls.
- Very similar to the normal Dagger. It deals slightly better critical hits and inflicts Bleed, but can only perform slashing attacks.
- Powerful weapon for Dexterity builds, elemental or not. With the 147 critical modifier, backstabs and ripostes will deal extremely high damage.
- Bleed build up is 30 per strike, and once inflicted will tear 30% of the opponents HP.

Was casually playing yesterday, got invaded by someone wielding this weapon, got parried and one shoted. Oh boy, how I love online Anor Londo

If you are Dex build and don't mind very short range... Ask yourself what's your favorite fighting style beacause this one here is something between Painting Guardian Sword and Dark Silver Tracer.
If you want to focus on very quick slashes for stacking bleed effect and benefit from weapon buff use Painting Guardian Sword instead.
If you want to focus on massive riposte/backstab damage with Hornet and Leo rings use Dark Silver Tracer instead.
But if you want some kind of allrounder for doing both tactics at the same time... The Bandit Knife is the thing for you.
If you want greater range instead go for other dex weapons.

This gives me the ptsd of Havel’s with parrying daggers murdering me with one parry... but it is good fun one shooting a giant dad with a single parry.

Rating weapon based on looks:
Pretty simple but the little curvature adds a charm to it
6/10
The bleed build-up, fast swing speed and low stamina consumption makes incredibly short work of the Stray Demon and Sif

Currently on a playthrough with this and it's a ton of fun. The Imps in Anor Londo, however, are a freaking nightmare. One hit and they knock backwards out of your hit range.

I'm still deciding on when i'm max level, if the bandit's knife or the normal dagger does more critical damage because at what I am currently is soul level 365 so far they're both equal with critical damage but that might change over time because both of them have the same scaling... the thing is the dagger has more damage while the bandits knife has more critical rating. The thing I like about the dagger is when you put a buff on it (ex: Sunlight Blade) when you are using it in pvp it has many fast attacks and at +15 with sunlight blade it probably get around 300-500 dph (damage per hit) depending on armor, and resistances the players use it comes in very handy which i like very much but the range is the bad part about it. I meant like it does have pretty good range for a dagger but it's still hard to reach players, and i'm not saying everyone says it's cancer which I don't; every weapon has it's advantage... It's a beginning weapon anyways (for the sorcerer class) but it gets way better over time... moving on the the bandit's knife, it has it's good times and bad, but the critical is wonderful for when you get parries or back stabs, but the only thing I don't like about it is it's range (which is very short) and hard to reach when you got squirmy people who roll a lot, and the second thing I don't like about it is it's slashing attacks. Yes it does have one thrust skill which I believe is the rolling attack but the range again doesn't help... so if you're ever going for a dexterity build and know how to get parries or back stabs, you always can switch to that as your secondary, so I'd go for bandits knife for crits and daggers for all purposes pvp, except ganks; they just do not work out for you at all...
