Demon Great Machete is a Weapon in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered.
The lesser Capra demons use these greatswords in pairs. The blade is cast iron and hooked."
"The sword is imbued with no particular magic, but for those who have the strength, its great weight will smash foes mercilessly."
How to Get & Where to Find the Demon Great Machete
- Rare drop from the Capra Demon boss.
- Drops from Minor Capra Demon (5% Chance - Demon Ruins)
- Purchased from Shiva of the East for 10,000 souls.
Hints and Tips
- Give to Frampt to receive 50 souls.
- One and two-handed strong attack is replaced with a jumping downward slash.
- Can be wielded two-handed at 27 Strength.
- The Dragon Greatsword, Black Knight Greatsword and Demon Great Machete are slower than the Greatsword and the Zweihander, though they don't appear to be much slower, it is more difficult to stunlock enemies with the first three.

The scaling, damage and reach on this thing are all great, but god that Heavy Attack sucks, it does very high damage and it pancakes enemies, but it's got an extremely slow wind-up and anyone with half a braincell will dodge it with ease or just outspace it without an issue, and it's not great in PVE either since you're practically forced to trade with it due to how abysmally slow it is, and the range isn't that great compared to other Ultra Greatswords heavy attacks like the one on the Zweihander, Greatsword and Dragon Greatsword on top of being way way slower and less useful, don't even bother using it all honestly just stick with Jump Attacks if you can, they're infinitely better than the normal Heavy Attack, because they deal just as much if not better damage, have better range and they still pancake enemies without having a wind-up that's so slow you'd have time to go and make yourself a coffee before it finally swings with not particularly impressive results when it lands.

Oh man, i get this on my first kill with faith build. What odds are for that and black king greatsword and stone sword...
- Anonymous
Instead of used to fight against the demon, the demon uses the machete to fight you. That's really screwed
- Anonymous
A powerful strength weapon that looks intimidating. Heavy attack is a bit disappointing.
- Anonymous
The heavy attack is so damn slow, that you could go make coffee, have your dinner, go take a dump and by the time you've come back it'll finally actually swing
- Anonymous
Why would you use this retarded weapon when you can use the moonlight great sword?
- Anonymous
Has a very similar heavy attack to smough's hammer, does a ton of damage and stagger often pancaking enemies, but is so slow that it's hard to make use of it without trading.

The earliest way you can get this (if you're not lucky enough to get it to drop from the capra demon boss that is) is to farm up to 30000 souls, buy the emblem of Artorias to unlock the path to the Forest Hunters covenant, and then buy it from Shiva for 10000 souls.
So if you're willing to farm that much in such an early area then go for it but huh... Be patient.

love this weapon it was my first strength weapon and carried me through my whole play through. if your new and want to do a strength build this is your blade.

I've just got one and upgraded it to chaos. But I've also topped a black knight greatsword. Which one you think is better?

Note: Die hard souls fans will appreciate the humor in the comment below.
This is an ok sword but nothing compared to the pkcs. But I guess if you're a noob and don't really know anything about how to play the game then yeah use this. I'm sticking with pkcs through every playthrough in every souls game. Once you master the pkcs(takes 100s of hours) then you become a Pvw( player vs whatever) God. I am so good with it I literally beat Ds1 and DS2 by playing Ds3. The demons sword sucks.

IMO the best str weapon. Demons greataxe technically has a higher ar but not by much, and this thing has a better move set and more range, making it the ultimate pve weapon. Oh and you can buff it.

I'm still mad that they took away it's S scaling at +15 in the remaster

This weapon with 31 Strength (two-handed) + Darkmoon Blade (or Sunlight Blade) at 50 Faith, has 1050 of damage. If you use Power Within, it will add approximately 300 damage. In NG + 6 I killed the first gargoyle in 2 running attacks. I never used spells and buffs in Dark Souls, but in this game, the buffs are OP.

Gravelord sword is way better than this gravelord sword does freaki'n amount of damage and is aloso good at PvP and PvE
and gravelord sword requires only 24 strentgh to wield properly

This weapon, hands down, is my favorite weapon in the series. It has beastly stats, and is good with every infusion (maybe not raw but that's obvious) and this is hands down the best UGS for damage. Sure, the heavy attack might not be good to use in PvP but it's godly in PvE, and if your good, you can even land it in PvP. Hands. Down. Best weapon I've ever used, every boss I faced was a JOKE when I used this

Is it weird that I like to pair this weapon with Sunlight Blade and Tranquil Walk of Peace?

27 strength is required to two-hand this Ultra Greatsword. Didn't find the edit button. Would write it to notes.

is dual wielding for this weapon available , I want to do the capra demon's Jumping attack , is it possible ?!

For maximum edginess take this weapon down the Occult upgrade path. I had a +4 Occult Demon Great Machete before the main Anor Londo cathedral and I was doing almost 900 damage to Silver Knights with a riposte. Also you could make it Chaos for some firey edginess. I once had a Chaos Demon Greataxe and it was awesome.

This thing is a beast damage wise (40 strength will give 655 AR two handing), with the longest range of an ultra great sword, and an increased level of poise and stamina damage. Unfortunately it is a slow swinging ultra, and lacks stunlock capabilities, can be reaction parried with ease if the connection is good (but let's be honest, has anyone ever had a good connection?), and weighs a whopping 18 units (almost twice the weight of a Zwiehander). Not very competitive meta wise, but I've use it on a strength/faith build with Tranquil Walk of Peace, which as dirty as it is, is almost a must to correct all the deficiencies of this snail paced leviathan (deficiencies include plenty of back stab openings, easily rolled attacks, and the fact that at 18 weight you're be lucky to medium roll while wearing a robe) . Paired it with lighting blade as well, and this thing has become my favorite tools of forced trades. My attacks with lighting blade have never hit for anything less than 750, meaning it's pretty much a guaranteed 3 hit knockout on anything with less than 50 vitality and +5 Giants armor. With that exception though, I do get about 2 hit knockout about 70% of the time overall against most light and medium armor users.
