This is a player-created Build for Dark Souls. If you want help making your own build, you can consult this useful page on how to make a build by Blaine.
- Build Name: Darkmoon Gwyndolin Build
- Build Level:
- Build Focus: PvE
- Build Main Stats:
- Starting Class: Any (pyromancer and sorcerer work well)
- Starting gift: any (master key may make easier)
ok this build may seem tricky at first for you have to level in these main stats: Attunement, Intelligence, Faith, Endurance, Vitality and either Dexterity or Strength if you want to go hybrid.
Build Equipment
Weapons | Armor | Shields | Rings |
Moonlight Butterfly Horn ( scales with int) | Crown of the Dark Sun (whole set increases magic dmg) | Crystal ring Shield (if you do not use soul for spear) | Darkmoon Seance ring (found in catacombs need to kill gwyndolin for armor) afterwards you can replace with ring of favor or wolfs ring, any ring will be fine |
iato (turn to lightning if your willing to spend points to wield) or washing pole | Moonlight Robe | any shield that you can equip without spending too many points in strength (if you chose not to) that has decent deffense stats (hollow soldier shield works good early on and you should have enough strength to wield it when you start) | Ring of Fog (avoid confrontations head on, recomend trade in skull lantern for you will be using the spell light in tomb of giants) |
any catalyst | Moonlight Gloves | Grass crest shield | any of the rings that deal with sorcery or miracles |
pyromancers flame and talisman | Moonlight Waistcloth | optional dual wield weapons or no shield | ring of steel protection (armor has poor physical def so ring boosts that) or ring of the evil eye |
Note: you can also to magic embers to the smith below firelink shrine in new londo ruins for magic enhanced weapons which is also good to use
Spells, Miracles, and Pyromancies For Equipping
Note: buy every spell, miracle, and pyromancy you can for if you do not need them right away you will need them later
also these are for the level 25-50 range, also light is recomended for when venturing into tomb of the giants
Spells | Miracles | Pyromancy |
soul arrow | heal or any version of heal | fireball |
magic shield or great magic shield (if you can get) | homeward (if you get stuck) can replace with another miracle | iron flesh (great for tanking in PvE or PvP,) |
great soul arrow | lightning spear or great lightning spear (if you can get) | fire orb |
any weapon buff (magic weapon spell) | force (works well in certain situations) or tranquil walk of peace | combustion |
any version of soul lance (if you can get or chose to boost int early on) or homing soul mass | Any version of Gravelord sword dance (if you can get) or sunlight blade (get after you kill Gwyndolin) (another good miracle would be darkmoon blade if you do not use the magic weapon spells) | any pyromancy you would like (if you can get it, these are for early on and will really help, they are also my preferred for PvE and PvP) |
note: refer to the warriors of sunlight covenant for information on lightning spears,
Note: also any of these are replaceable with others these are just some of the ones i use and prefer to use (same goes with equips and stats) this is just a guide no need to follow it to the period.
Level Stats
Note: these stats will be based on the pyromancer's starting stats (pyromancer is the class i used to do this) boosting intelligence and attunement early on may make game easier but remember that you will need to branch off into vitality, endurance, and any other stat you choose
with this build you may or may not die a lot at first, it all depends on the player and how you start off, but this seems to be an excellent PvE build due to the fact that most of the enemies have hardly any magic resistances. I have also won quite a few PvP matches with this build due to most players also failing to have a good magic deffense, but with the spells, miracles, and pyromancies you should have equipped your low deffence wont matter too much in the end.
Stat Name | Level 25 | level 50 | level 75 | level 100 |
Vitality | 15 | 20 | 25 | 30 |
Attunement | 16 | 20 | 20 | 30 |
Endurance | 15 | 20 | 20 | 20 |
Strength | 12 | 12 | 12 | 12 |
Dexterity | 9 | 9 | 9 | 9 |
Resistance | 12 | 12 | 12 | 12 |
Intelligence | 20 | 21 | 31 | 41 |
Faith | 10 | 20 | 30 | 30 |
Note: i did not level up strength, dexterity, or resistance, also most of you damage will be coming from intelligence so boost that as much as you can and want, notice i kept endurance at 20 this is because you will not need a very high endurance due to using light equipment, if you get overburdened a little bit you can use havels ring, also it will be good to use the grasscrest shield or the ring that regenerates stamina at a faster rate
these stats are optional beginning you can choose whichever stats you want to start leveling at first, also humanity is not listed for it only increases item drops and deals with nonrelated skills
