These are the 2 builds I used with great success in both PVP and PVE. Both Builds are SL136 (this will allow you to invade from SL125 upwards) and are designed to get everything from the game (with these builds the game can be platinumed)
1st build:
This build is designed to be a jack of all trades and caters for all situations especially in PVE. Suggested class and gift - anything you fancy. Keep catalyst in left hand and talisman in right hand.

Build Equipment
I am not going to list the equipment I used but just remember if going for light armor use Mask of the Father for the extra equip burden and also The wolf ring for the added poise (PVP) or The ring of steel protection (PVE). With Medium armor I use Havel Ring while with Heavy armor I use both Havel ring, Darkwood Grain Ring and Mask of the Father.
Normally I have a weapon of each type i.e a divine, occult, lightning, magic etc just for all situations. Please note that divine, occult, magic and enchanted weapons are more efficient in the 1st build. Always keep a mixture of weapons depending on who you are facing. If you are facing a fast hitting char do not use a heavy weapon for if you miss you are open to backstabs. Heavy weapons are efficient against light armored characters normally casters.

Build Strategy
1st build:

Explanation
Basically you can use all magic except Dragon Breadth and most miracles including Wrath of the God. 19 attunment allows 5 spell slots
Strength and Dexterity are enough to wield some powerful weapons including The Greatsword of Arthorias, Titanite Catchpole and Zwiehander
40 Endurance is a must. remaining points went into Vitality.
2nd build:
This build is designed to use all weapons available with pyromancy. Suggested class: Wanderer, Pyromancer or Sorcerer (only if going for the 15 in int), gift what ever you fancy

Explanation :
First of all intellect is at 15 so the spells from Big Hat Logan can be purchased for trophy purposes. If you do not care for the trophy put them in Vitality and 2 in dexterity. 19 Attunment allows to use 5 Pyro Spells. Vitality allows for some crazy health especially useful in PVP. Strength and Dexterity ( if the later is increased by 2) allows to use all the weapons in the game albeit some 2 handed. 47 Endurance allows to carry the heavies weapons and armor but still quick roll using Havel ring, Darkwood Grain Ring and Mask of the Father. Is use pyro glove in right hand and a bow (PVE) or crossbow (PVP) on the left hand.
